Tis how it has always been

I remember back in the 70's when we were issued with ration cards ( never came to it in the end )
Petrol shot up from about 50p a GALLON to 70p a gallon.. Crisis over but it never went down again
I also remember commenting that if it goes over a £1 a gallon there will be problems as a lot of the pumps would have to be changed !

There was a time when a 1 pence increase in a gallon caused outrage. Now no-one bats an eyelid at 1 or 2 pence on a litre.

How come the Frogs can get soooooooooooooo belligerent over fuel prices (which are roughly comparable with ours, so I don't see what the fuss is about...) yet the merest sniff of a German in uniform and they're gone, faster than shit through a goose.

I remember that as well John , and you got a separate ration book for every vehicle that was registered in your name. I was sitting pretty with three of them and it never happened !!!

I was panicking !
Had a young but thriving aerial installation firm back then covering Kings Lynn to Diss to Cambridge.. Vans had to do 10 jobs daily to make them pay.. That meant filling up every day and sometimes twice a day !

And the reply will be 'what the eff did you all expect when voting to leave the EU'

Ooopps, sorry, collapse of the £ has nothing to do with Brexit.

Oh no.

Not at all.

Oil has dropped to roughly $47 a barrel.. Diesel should now be just under £1 a litre tops now... someone is making a LOT of money off our backs
