Hi all

I picked up a red fi a couple of weeks ago loving the bird. I wanted one for years finally got round to buying one. Last bike was a ZX12r which after having quite a few 1000 sportsbikes was a nice change as sports tourer came heavily recommended. There is something about the super blackbird though that has always compelled me to get one. This is a great forum I see you have a bottomless wealth of knowledge and banter!
I have already bought a few small bits and pieces from Jaws which was great service - lots of toys to buy on there!
I have a mra screen hugger shrooms and bar ends to fit hopefully at weekend and a new tank pad. Hopefully if I get time I want to checkout the loom fix and have a look at rectifier and ctt so that I can get familiar. I also need to take some pics of it

Anyway I will be about the forum and look forward to talking/bantering with you
Cheers Sam

Welcome Sam. Enjoy the banter. Nice looking bike despite being the slowest colour (candy phoenix blue 5 extra bhp……..fact).
Please understand this forum is mainly about BMW cars, diy, golf, the state of members drives and gardens. Also interior decor and other trivia having feck all to do with motorcycles. Not surprising really as most of us are old enough to smell of stale piss and cabbage and struggle to mount the pavement never mind a bike.

Welcome Sam. I’ll further ask you to understand that the forum also has an interest in Tritons and dogs, of the canine variety.
Do you own a proper motorbike as well as a raspberry pink museum piece?

You'd think one of the moderators would organise a survey to find out how many of us still own and ride a Blackbird?

Also, when you consider the most active moderator is a bike hating, BMW steering, golfist with no friends, who has nothing better to do with his life- is it any surprise most actual 'Bird owners don't come on much.

And new one's don't usually hang around long.

Jeez not another pink one. And what are you doing on here? I've got socks older than you.

Welcome to the forum!
Haha my wife's work colleague has a blue carby and he has already said how come your husband bought a poof pink! Well I have looked at a few black ones but they were pretty tired and chopped about too much for my taste haha

‘Comfy’.

Old before your time so you should fit in OK.

It gets worse it's the first generation of 1 series that isn't rear wheel drive . . . But she likes it. I can't stand the mats because they are velcro rather than click in ones and the mats slip about really quite irritating

Never mind the mats! Do the indicators work?
Most Beemers suffer early failure of the indicator fluid pump (absolute fact, never mind yer Vorsprung Durch Technik) which results in horrendous consequences for other unsuspecting motorists .

That's a myth, there's nothing wrong with BMW indicators.

If the car changes lane without indicating it's simply checking the lane departure control works ;)
