Finally got the mods pretty well done for now...it's a California 2002 model Blackbird, only came in silver here...it was only a temporary affliction. Installed a Sport Production Akrapovic exhaust, VFR bars, Pro-Grip 714 gel grips, Galfer stainless braided hydraulic lines, Clear Alternatives front "winker" lenses (that cracks me up to even say that...who named them that, anyway? :goofy:) with Titanium bulbs, '99 black bodywork sans tank, JAWS crash mushrooms and frame plugs, 6 mm shock spacer, and finally, '02 UK spec fairing decals as it's a Super Blackbird and should rightly declare as much! Thanks John!!!

Not really, Bob...had one from JAWS, but never installed it as I tend to not be as bold as you folks in the UK, riding in all sorts of weather! We do enjoy the majority of the year as great riding weather - gets cold, gets hot, gets windy...always great to ride! Bit of rain in the winter to green things up!

Do Californian models have weird restrictions on the engine to reduce emissions though?

Pug,
I've heard a few things in rumor that the Cali models have a different grind on the cam, etc. The numbers that I have seen, and I have no idea if they are still true, are 164 crank/hp for the 49 state models and 162 crank/hp for the "Ahnuld-fer-Guvner" state models...:B One other variation is the oxygen sensor - what it actually does...I don't know...I ditched mine and replaced it with that nice little plug that you can get from the same nice folks we get our PCII/III's from when I put on my Akra system so the FI light wouldn't come on

BTW, I didn't get an elf to clean my bike when I purchased it...was that only a temporary program? You got TWO??!! :t
