On the South East news tonight it was announced that a new Ferry service will be launched from Dover to Boulogne, I think in a Month or so, think the Company are called Speedferries, and by the look of the pictures they will be using Seacat type boats. News was saying that for early bookers they will be doing a ?50 return anytime ticket (ie, 1 or more days away, no limit) Apparently they want to run it like a budget airline, make of that what you will.
Will keep an eye open and report any further news as i get it.:p

Pompey to caen

?150 return for two with Bird from Pompey to Caen on P&O Seacat takes 3 hours 50.
Two films to look at but bugger all else to do.

I have just e-mailed Speedferries about when/if they will be taking bikes, will post the reply here if/when I get one.

Never used Norfolk line myself, have heard they are 'basic' but for a fair price, I for one would not give a toss, up to now though thier prices seem on a par with P&O, but just lately P&O seem to have jacked up thier prices somewhat. :shooter:

Have to agree - going basic and having an extra ?66 to spend on beer at the other end is more than worth it.

The cheapest that I've been able to get P&O Dover / Calais route (to match the times that we want) is ?135 each. Just need to see if I can accomodation at Assen for GP and off we go.

Here is the reply from Speedferries, looks to to me like a bog standard reply, so it does not really help, sorry.

Dear Simon

SpeedFerries aims to deliver a high speed ? high service concept to all

passengers by securing a fast, professional and efficient operation both on

board and ashore.

We will not be ready with a fast and efficient handling of motorbikes in

time for the 19 May. However once the service is in operation, SpeedFerries

will review handling of motorbikes and hopefully in the future be able to

welcome motorbikes on board.

You can keep track of news regarding the service on our web-site www.speedferries.com

Kind regards,

SpeedFerries Limited
