A bit of a conundrum here, "dunno what that means but it sounds good" :D As per the thread title, I have a set of fat shaking fingers and need to put some tiny screws in a small hole that's surrounded so I can't get the fingers in any way, I've tried magnetizing the screwdriver head to keep the screw on it but because the hole is such a pain to get to it keeps dropping off or moving away from the hole "the screw that is" I thought about glue but haven't got the right stuff, and the possibility the screw would just stay stuck to the driver, I thought about chewing gum but it is such a small screw the chances it will stick to the surround and move or stick to it, any intelligent suggestions are welcome.

Blue tac on the screw should hold it to the driver long enough to get is started but if its in a recessed hole the blue tac remains are not coming out easily, depends on the item as to if that matters or not

I assume from what you have said you have a proper magnetiser for the screwdriver? If not a couple of quid off fleabay - every toolbox should have one.

I'm not up on the physics but I wonder if magnetising the screws as well might help? Not sure if it will do the opposite though?

Can you change the orientation of whatever you are trying to put the screws into? Rather than 'screwing down' with gravity fighting against you, can you 'screw up into the hole and let gravity be your friend?

I usually use cellotape to hold the screw to the screwdriver shaft, with a couple of small strips either side.
If the screws are too greasy for the cellotape to stick then another one I've used is to cut out a small strip of card, push the screw through the middle, then fold the ends of the card up onto the screwdriver shaft and cellotape them in place.

That looks interesting...do they work?

Always saddens me to see Draper branded stuff these days - used to be quality gear but cheap Far Eastern imports these days:(

Have you tried a blob of thick grease?
(Probably thinking on from Pow-Lows comment);)

Well, I have to admit it the job is done, finished and works perfectly, I would like to thank everyone for their "suggestions" I ended up doing things the easy way, I asked Yvonne if she would do the dirty deed "finish the job in hand" and that's exactly what she did, everything works 100% and even tidied up after me. Thank you my darling. XX
