Thanks everyone that made friday interesting for me, I feel I know the QE2 bridge quite intimately now! It was good to put faces to the names, just a shame I couldn't stay for the whole trip.

Well done to all that did.

Steve
Shame you had to take the quick way home Steve. :xm

How's the wrist?

Morning all!
Totally amazing weekend! I've so got the bug for doing another road trip :yo:

Huge thanks to everyone who organised the trip.

Being able to do the Shap pass run with good friends, clear skys and very few cars was a true highlight for me :-0)
When's the next one, when's the next one, when's the next one? R#?

Hehe. Well im up for doing another FACE for 2009. So glad your up for it mel. Will keep you updated about it.

And yeah, was good fun.

In the meantime of charity events, would anybody be up for a ride out and giving Christmas presents to children who are less fortunate?

Glad you enjoyed it kev.

And niceone guys, will look into the Christmas one more and keep you updated.

One thing im having trouble finding is a charity which takes Christmas presents for the less fortunate.

Any ideas?

Ok. Great ormond street. Its going to be a pain to get 20-30 + bikes through London all together so the plan would be is to all ride together to just outside London where a car would be waiting. Then take all the presents to Great Ormond Street Hospital in a car.

Thoughts?

Matty.
if you are going to do this sort of thing then you need to get the bikes to the hospital, that is part of the excitement the kids enjoy and the riders will want to do the hand over, or you might aswell just take them in a car from anywhere

with all due respect, as the grandparent of a child who has lots of dealings with Great Ormond Street in her little life, GOSH is usually over run with gifts from good people.

What about another children's hospital elsewhere in the country,
or a childrens hospice?

Failing that what about nominating a Special School? I do have some contacts

There is a childrens hospice near to me

http://www.each.org.uk/

With 3 sites to choose from...perhaps we could do all 3 as part of a rideout? A 92 mile run starting in Cambridge?

Are we talking about Christmas Eve (just being realistic about commitments)
