I applaud the cause but their methods will hardly help it.

All they have done is pissed off tens of thousands on Londoners, don't think it'll be long before someone gives one or more of them a smack.

Much as I dislike Corbyn, chaining themselves to his private residence is way over the line.

They could do with a good PR agency if they are to be taken seriously rather than be regarded as a bunch of disruptive wasters.

Bunch of twats and serial protesters with nothing better to do with their lives. My tax contributions are paying their benefits.

I really hope some normal folk who just want to go about their business in London takes a few of these to one side and ‘explains’ the errors of their ways.

So with Parliament on holiday and not an MP to be seen, which one of these snowflakes decided to organise a protest in the capital ...? :risas3:

Emma Thompson jets 5000 miles to join them, real eco friendly.
So said the headlines
But if the lot is read she was flying home any way... She just left a few days early. But she is STILL flying and planes are massive polluters

There is a good point here. I was watching the Grand Designs programme about the new build/new town development in Oxfordshire last night (which looks brilliant, wish there was something similar down here, I'd be all over it) - the couple were amazingly passionate about building their house in an eco- friendly way (which again is brilliant). They flew to Portugal to investigate using cork as the base material for their house, viewed the product and the massive factory churning it out then had it transported from Portugal.

In fairness, modern jet airliners are significantly less polluting per mile than anything with an internal combustion engine.

Are you sure about that Andy ?
Not really arguing cos I do not know, but I was under the impression jets were awful cos they use kerosene AND often dump fuel which atomise in the atmosphere

Just found this on an aviation page...

A Boeing 737-400 jet is typically used for short international flights.

For a distance of 926 km, the amount of fuel used is estimated to be 3.61 tonnes [38], including taxiing, take-off, cruising and landing.

Yes, I didn't explain that very well - mpg per person. A fully loaded A380"apparently does around 95mpg per person.

Which somewhat banjaxes the theory as even my car will do about 200mpg per person if five aboard.:gaydude:

However, you don't get a meal every two hours, toilets, free drinks or cabin service in the car. And it would take around 15 days to get to Sydney at an average of 50mph, ignoring sea crossings.

The problem with planes, as far as my simple mind understands, is that because of their proximity to the ozone layer, the emissions do more damage as they are pretty much unadulterated when they reach the atmosphere. Think about it, emissions from cars, factories, etc. have a long way to travel and are likely to be significantly ‘diluted’ and dispersed by the time they reach atmosphere.
