Well it is a carby but I have NO idea what could cause it..
It was violent enough to destroy and remove the fairing panel
When you think about it where what ever it was let go there is bugger all there
Timing chain, ignition pick up, and not a lot else

It looks like steam under pressure, I wondered if it could be the head gasket?

But then as someone has already said, nitrous, after all even a carby in that colour would need some help to get some decent speed up!

I spose it could be a hidden nitrous bottle, but what ever it is it goes with far more force than a mere head gasket !
Perhaps he was packing an IED and it went off prematurely !
