As you may be aware Bev was involved in a road rage incident last year, the guy was charged with dangerous driving & threatening behaviour.
He changed his plea to guilty when he appeared at court last month.
He gets sentenced on Monday.

When we claimed on our insurance (esure) we had to pay the garage £250 excess,
we are trying to get that back since he went guilty.
Esure are saying we have to claim it back through his insurance (Admiral) as we didn't take out legal cover.
It seems to me they are being petty because we didn't buy into the legal cover scam.

Sadly I think they may be right. I suspect the 'guilty' outcome has no impact on the outcome of the insurance claim.

personally I would go,straight to Admiral and if I didn't get anywhere consider going through Small Claims process - I think it is £38 to lodge a claim and the process is very straightforward.

Admiral may surprise you though as it seems right they should be stumping up.
