It amazes me how many people ride round in shorts, t-shirt and pumps whether on big bikes or scooters. I was passed by a young lad yesterday on a scooter who was weaving in and out of cars swapping lanes at 30 to 40 mph and trying to pop wheelies when leaving the Sainsburys roundabout on Ings Rd Wakey. Whilst I would never wish an accident on anyone, I can't help but think his come upance won't be long in coming and I wont be too fussed if it does.

I could cry when I see them.

As I said the other day if you have an off wearing the best protective gear available it’s likely to sting a bit as a minimum, even a 10mph off in shorts and t shirt could easily be a life changing event.

oh how they laughed at me sweating buckets in my leathers on a borrowed Hyabusa in 30c + in Cyprus while they were in shorts…..I’m pleased they didn’t have an off and the fact that none of us did I suppose proves that they were right.???

Bollocks to that, I’d rather sweat!

Saw a report on kevlar jeans, Aldi vs a brand. Can't remember the brand.

The Aldi jeans didn't have kevlar lining all over the inside.

Went to look at jeans in Hein Gerick, now gone, they were awful looking.
I have Draggin Jeans my son gave me but they don't have any hip r knee pads.

Thing is they have been going round putting a top dressing on the roads to hide the state of them, doesn't work you can still see they're a mess but now there is loose gravel all over and no road markings.

I followed someone on a moped the other day sandals T shirt, shorts no gloves I thought that if he/she hit a pot hole and came off at 30mph they would regret not wearing the correct gear.

The worse I saw was a biker in all the correct gear with a child on the back in shorts and t shirt

It's the riders of those e-scooters too.

I see loads of young girls in partular round these parts.... shorts, sleeveless top, sometimes barefoot....going full tilt up the middle of the road and sometimes two up.
There's no way in hell that most of them will brake in time if something pulls out on them and gravel rash at 20 mph is not going to be pretty.

After a couple of holidays in the Dominican republic I don’t care what people choose to wear on their bikes.
Honda 50’s 70’s 90’s as taxis, several passengers at once, even saw a woman sat sidesaddle breast feeding a baby.

I used to speed down Holme Moss on the pushbike between 50 and 60 mph dressed only in lycra. Doing the same speeds on my 1100XX in full leathers made me realise how badly injured I could have ended up if I'd come off the pushbike at that speed. I now keep it around 35 with the brakes getting red hot.
