The EU President said today "If you want an expanded EU then you have to pay for it." The only thing I had a say in was joining the Common Market. An organisation to allow free trade among a select group of fairly wealthy nations. Next, without a by your leave, we had an EU which is a political alliance which gives up our sovereinty sp and costs us a fortune overpaying farmers throughout the EU. 40% of the total budget for about 6% of the workers. Then we have the expansion bringing in loads of other countries and we are expected to pay for their development in the name of preventing further wars in these developing countries! Isn't war a required part of development? There has been enough fiddling in the origional EU. Imagine what is going to be siphoned off now. Do the developed countries who have not joined seem to be suffering? Now Mr Blair has given up a large chunk of our rebate without a GUARANTEE of any revision of the way the money is spent. Why....just because he would have looked a failure if he couldn't bring in an agreed budget; and France is laughing all the way to our bank accounts Sorry for the rant but it just makes me want to uke:
