I'm looking to go to Portugal for the Moto GP this year & incorporate it as a winter holiday. Has anyone been, who could give advice on where's the best viewpoint?
Also, what's the town like, any nice places to stay that could be recommended which are near shops, etc, to also keep my wife happy?

Thanks
Stevie

Can?t really help you much, as we?ve only been once and never walked around the track. In 2006 we were overlooking corner number 5 where Pedrosa took out Nicky Hayden (Parabolica Interior).

We had a good view of them coming down the back straight and through the left-hander to pass in front of us; they disappeared into turn 6, but we could turn around and watch them through the slow chicane (7 ? Gancho), and again as they went through Parabolica Senna .

Facilities at the track were very basic ? but the atmosphere and the quality of racing more than makes up for that! We stayed in Setubal, about 40 minutes away from the track, because we were sightseeing as well, but hopefully someone will come along with some info. on accommodation in Estoril. Enjoy your trip!
