In the News End of Pride?

Does this signal the writing on the wall for Pride?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0q877y7g9eo

I‘ve mentioned previously that Pride month gets on my tits for the same reason as Black History month i.e. why does it need to be a month?

According the the BBC article, available funds have dwindled as have the number of volunteers. It would likely be so much more successful, popular (or less annoying, depending on your views) and better funded if it became Pride weekend.

A minute spent on this shite is sixty seconds too long
A number of my gay friends can’t be arsed with it. They see being gay as their way of life and that’s the end of it, not a cause for celebration. A couple whom we‘re very good friends with, think it goes too far with supermarkets, buses, etc. being draped with rainbows. I was checking the DPD couriers’ app for the whereabouts of my parcel last week and the icon representing the delivery van was replaced with a f’ing rainbow! It’s so unnecessary.

It's a good point.

Would we all join Beaker celebrating 'mis-calibrated spirit-level' for a month?
Would we all join Dirk celebrating 'donkey pooping in a road' or 'horsebox going at 20mph' month?
Would we celebrate 'motorised pikey-wagon Bocking the road' with Malone?

No. we wouldn't.

One day a year is more than enough for all that nonsense.

Would we all join Beaker celebrating 'mis-calibrated spirit-level' for a month? Maybe
Would we all join Dirk celebrating 'donkey pooping in a road' or 'horsebox going at 20mph' month? Horses not Donkeys
Would we celebrate 'motorised pikey-wagon Bocking the road' with Malone?

No. we wouldn't.
Are you qualified to speak for everybody?

One day a year is more than enough for all that nonsense. Agreed

I’m proud to let you all know I have never Bocked the road. I wouldn’t know how to, but if I find out then I’ll go out and celebrate.

It has always pissed me off that the alphabet minority take a whole month to let the world know about their sexual interests, whereas there's just an Armed Forces Day. Worse is the fact that it's forced upon the rest of us. When SWMBO worked in the NHS they handed out LGBT badges and insisted that they wore them. SWMBO refused, but she did wear the "Veteran Aware" badge she was given.
On that note, is there such a thing as Emergency Services Day/Week/Month..? If there is then it can't get much press coverage, because I've not seen anything.
The fact is that the whole LGBT "celebration" was invoked to counter the fact that it was once socially unacceptable and they were unfairly treated. These days it's practically a vocation for some folk to be high profile LGBT and perpetually pushing their LGBT agenda in the public eye.
They're about as "normal" a part of every day life as it's possible to be.... in my opinion, to the detriment of those of us who are straight...so it's time to knock off the annual "rainbow" events that the rest of us have had to tolerate..... events that we have had no choice in and which you couldn't safely object to.

And that’d be a day more than needed.

About six or seven years ago a Nurse was sacked as she refused to remove a cross from her necklace, she was told that complaints had been made but they wouldn’t say who had complained, she fought it & eventually won her case, as I recall it took almost three years, she had been suspended on full pay.

Same thing happened at BA where a check-in worker wore a cross on her jacket lapel. She was told she couldn't wear it because religious symbols were not permitted as part of BA's uniform standards at the material time. However, she argued that Sikhs were permitted to wear their bracelet indicating their faith, which must, by definition, be a religious symbol. This case actually made headline news and she subsequently went on to win.

Whilst I'm a man of faith, I didn't (and still don't) care who was right and who was wrong. What I am not ok with is discrimination; either staff can wear a religious symbol or they can't and it applies across the board.

I've said this on here before and I'll say it again - Christ Himself only has two f'ing days, so why should Pride and Black History be for a month (although Black History isn't forced upon us lot the same extent as Pride)?

Whilst I'm repeating myself I'll go again - we have one day for Armed Forces and one for Remembrance. If it wasn't for our Armed Forces fighting for God, King and Country, there would be no Pride because there would be no gays.

I was searching visitors entering the Prison, the Seikh minister came through, hehad a small dagger on him, I told him he couldn’t bring it in for obvious reasons, the Senior Officer on the gate said “it’s ok he’s allowed it for religious reasons” I said “what if the Imam comes in with a backpack full of explosives?” Security Governor attended & let the Seikh minister in with his dagger.
