After a great cloggers week-end
we split from the main group at penrith to head for home
and stopped at Hartside Cafe or a cupper
mounting up in the car park and walkingthe BB back it happened
I lost my footing on the loose surface and the bike went over
luck has it that I was unerdneath it so no major damage done Clutch cover scratched and back of mirror has a couple of scratches that will cover or hide
Main Damage is my pride. but what the hell it could have been worse
thanks to mick and some other guys for lifting the bike off me (F**k there heavy) :xm

Ouch.

Hard luck yawl.
Dropped mine three weeks ago.
Just filled her up at the local petrol stn, climbed aboard, started to 'paddle' her backwards as some inconsiderate flag slatherer had reversed up to my front and.... both feet went on the diesel !.
Down on the offside, JAWS 'shrooms' saved most stuff, just some grazes on the lower faring and a small scratch on the end of the mirror housing. ( lower needs a respray anyway due to some bubbling paint).
I was so annoyed I picked her ( and a full topbox of work kit) up without thinking.

Bugger....

We had the same type of thing happen on a bit of diesel whilst filling up at a garage...Foot slipped.... Bike came over on top of me, and I found out it was just as heavy as you found it was...

We are all grateful when a memeber of the public help us up... We aint all as strong as an ox Rhino...LOL

Glad to hear there wasnt much damage though..

Best wishes to you both,

53 and nver dropped one yet!!!...but

never 'droped a bike yet (have fallen off) but as I get weaker and older it's gonna happen one day and got shrooms of Jaws last week in preparation!!

Dont seem to need to drop it to scratch it tho'. Keep mine in a horse box and caught the mirror on some stick-out metal thing on side wall. :eek: Should have taken the friggin' horse out first I suppose.... c7u8 :}

Ooops.

I was up at the Ponderosa cafe above Llangollen on Friday afternoon - had a brew and a chat ( as ya do) got ready to go and sat and waited for a car to pass - nodded to the couple siting on the wall, got rolling and stalled it - you think a 'Bird is heavy - try and save a Pan Euro! Bleedin' leg is still sore!

Just seen the post Del. What matters is that you're ok (apart from pride)
I'm sure you'll soon sort the bike. What a way to end a great weekend!!!

All in days work

Joined Traffic in the Met in 1990
My first week was eventful. I had ridden to a local court house parked the bike in the car park and thought I had put the side stand down properly...
Not so, the bike (BMW) Fell on its side causing minor damage to the fairing
Any damage caused requires the Sergeant to be called out. This was done
I put my hands up and agreed I was a plonker, Because the damage was minor I was able to continue on patrol following the court hearing.
My route took me through Golders Green to the North Circular Rd, I could see at the cross roads ahead of me the traffic lights were red, I stopped unfortunately the driver behind me failed to see I had stopped and ran into the back of the bike, Uninjured I picked the bike up explained the to the driver I had to call the Sergeant. He arrived for the second time to find out what I had been up to this time. Explanations followed
The bike had minor damage to the pannier and was rideble. I was instructed to ride it back to the Garage and park up. The good Sergeant would follow to make sure I was not involved in anything else
The trip back was non eventful, I decided to park on the wash bay and give the bike a clean, well It was the least I could do before it went off to workshops to be repaired, As I stopped on the wet metal grate my footing slipped and yep the fookin thing went down again, lucky it was the same side as the first prang. I looked behind me to see the Sergeant with head resting on the steering wheel of his car, after a few seconds he got out of the car checked I was ok
His words were "Wash the bike do not leave the garage do some paperwork then go home"
The bike was now clean, but during the process of cleaning I had extended the rear blue light I forgot to retract the thing
As I rode into the covered garage the rear blue light hit the bottom of the roller shutter and smashed a loud bang echoed around the whole area.
First on scene was  yep you guessed
This day is still known as black Thursday :dunno:

Stuff happens

Reading that was the best laugh I've had in ages! i have dropped mine twice. Second time on the wife's rhododendron bush. No damage to bike but the wife is still moaning! Just seen the alternative interpretation but won't change it.
