Just had a scam email entiled "Your Microsoft Office® 2019 License" inviting me to renew my license.

Which is strange as I've got Office 2007 and 2016.

I suspect they're aiming it at those who are now forced to work from home. The little scamps.

Keep 'em peeled.

I've had two for my TV licence and one for my 'Income Tax estimate' in the last two days!

They will be rife at the moment, just hoping the odd one triggers a response while people
are on the back foot!

I had one on the phone a couple of weeks before all this shite kicked off, but that’s about it. Will be extra vigilant on the email though.

I have had a coupls of emails advertising carbon fibre face masks (yes, really!) for immediate delivery.

There really are some absolute shits out there.

Wish I could stop Millets sending me a daily email about their never ending warehouse clearance.....I don't know how they do it, I have tried unsubscribing and directing to the spam box and I still, wake up to the bloody thing every morning.

Assuming that you have an account with them, you may need to log in and check if there's something in the account Preferences section to disable marketing.
They are in breach of GDPR if they don't action your unsubscribe request, but some companies have found a grey area where they will continue to send marketing emails.
Usually you'll find that they've split their marketing options into multi-choice selections. e. g. Specials, end of season, news, weekend sales, new products, introductory sales, flash sales, etc.
You may be unsubscibing from one of those, but the others continue.
If that doesn't work then email them explaining that they are in breach of GDPR and if they don't desist then you will report them to the ICO.

Just had another one....this time a text.

HMRC: You have not yet claimed your yearly tax return.
Please sign up and complete the online form to complete your return:

Maybe we should make this a sticky as I suspect we'll all be getting many more.

If it purports to come from HMRC you can forward it to...

phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

My elderly parents had one a couple of weeks ago stating they owed money for not sending their tax return in on time (they're many years retired & don't need to send in a return) & I've had a phone call telling me that a warrant had been issued for my arrest for non payment of tax.

Odd really as I work for HMRC.

Yup, I got two of those today.

They think anyone is falling for that??

Read the first one when I got back from the pub, and the second one when I got back from the bookies.

Son tells my of case in NI- guy fined £30 for being out of house too many times.
He was painting a house down the road and was up and down the road for food.
Not a myth. He knows the house was owner.

Haven't had a Nigerian mail for ages.
Somebody else must have agreed to take the £200,000,000,000.

There's supposed to be a credit union scam going on here. Warning not to respond giving personal information.

Problem is you get that so wary that you don't believe anything, I had a text last Tuesday from "AMEX" advising of fraud with a press 1 (to acknowledge) or 2 (to speak to AMEX), oh right yeah that seems like a good idea, later I had a missed 0845 call so I logged into my account and they had a banner in the account for me to phone them.

Some plum had cloned the card and was attempting to take £40.00 out of a cash machine, which I have never done hence it looked suspicious and they blocked it. Great service thereafter and unlike other credit cards, this one had gone for 19 years without an issue up until now.

The weird thing is with recent restrictions I hadn't used it in almost a week in even then it was just M6 toll use.

The banks spend a fortune continually developing 'unusual activity' systems. They really have to,be seen to be believed, really impressive stuff
