I have an electrical fault that keeps coming and going, it shows up by the speedo fluctuating from whatever to zero , it seems that if you open the throttle hard it will suddenly clear and then just as suddenly it will go to zero again, its doing my head in, i cant find any loose connection but its difficult to know where to look, does anyone else recognise the symptoms, could it be a dodgy rectifier? i also have a problem that if i run with lights on after a long run the battery is not charged enough to start the bike, but again it doesnt do it all the time. :dunno: :dunno:

Sounds like the rectifier to me, had the same problem myself. Do you keep the battery on a charger when not in use, if you do then the real problems will not start till your battery is completley knackered :B . Get a multimeter and make sure the battery is charging when the engine is running.

minesaredun too

Did you have the same thing with the needle dropping , if you did then its got to be the rectifier, although i cant see the connection just to the speedo alone, i cant click on to the attachment Superbird, my pc has got a bit corrupted.
