My daughter is also in Shanklin and just messaged to say that the weather has changed and just been caught in a massive thunderstorm.

It was supposed to be arriving early hours of the morning.

Must have got AM confused with PM

Hope she has had more luck than me in finding somewhere half decent to eat.

Tye Steamer Inn on the front is not bad in a seafront restaurant sort of way. That’s about it.

Thought we stayed in Shanklin last time we came and it was nice……worked out yesterday we stayed in Sandown last time….it’s a lot better than Shanklin!

Lovely island though, had a really nice time out and about…and the weather has been great!

And we have glimpsed the white cliff of Seaford Head once in the distance!

She has been staying in Cowes and was visiting Shanklin when the storm hit.

On Tuesday they went to a restaurant and it turns out the pizza that was ordered came from the Pizza shop across the road but was about 2 quid cheaper, but they did have to wait for 90 minutes.

Prior to that they had been looking for somewhere to enjoy some decent sea food and everywhere was booked out.

Not heard how she has done tonight although apparently they did have a nice lunch down at Alum Bay.
