I was looking for an item earlier. The manufacturers are out of stock waiting for supplies, their 3 distributors have no stock either, so I turned to eBay.
I did my search with maker, name and product number and found several for sale. The start prices were good, so I had a bid, the bids went up and up and up. The first for £72 + £3p&p. Too dear for me. The second a half hour later for £85 + £3.85 p&p. What! New when available they’re something like £65.
I then did a search for just the maker, then scrolled through dozens of hits, until I found exactly what I wanted on a buy it now @ £55. Sorted. paid for, and no need for any bidding war.
