Hi all,w;;v

Just finished installing a Dynojet kit on my 97 Bird (carby of course) and WOW what a difference.
Before the kit she had a bad flat spot from 5500-7000 rpm, pulled strong up to 5 1/2k and went like a raped date over 7k but as flat as a pancake in between:dunno: .

Now no flat spot at all just pulls like a train to the redlineR#?

Cheers

Come on then john, pray tell more?

I have a 97 carbed bird, whats involved, how does it fit, where, how much are they and what can you set up on it?.

Can you do it yourself or do you need special knowledge?

Cheers

Ok kit cost $159 NZ Dollars (not sure how that converts to pounds or euro but would be less than half)

Kit consists of replacement throttle slide return springs (different length and spring rate) a drill bit to enlarge the vaccume hole in the bottom of the slide.
Replacement needle jets and circlips.
A selection of replacement main jets -144 for stock bike
150 with K&N filter or replacement cans
155 with both filter & cans

I fitted myself (pretty handy with the spanners - ex mechanic)
Ideally the carbs should be removed , but I managed to do it with them in place.took me about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs taking my time.

All I can say is if your carbied Bird has the dreaded flat spot in the midrange rpm you'll be amazed at the difference.

AS for fuel economy will probably use a little more in midrange an upper rpm as the kit adds more fuel in those areas to correct the lean factory settings
which help the Bird pass emission control testing.

Cheers
