Dutch Blackbird Bash 19 till 21 September 2008

Last year we had 161 Blackbirds visiting us at our Blackbird Bash.

This year same ingredients for a super bash.
Dates are from 19 September till 21 September.
Were located at a campsite from one of our members.

Good to see our blue birds in the pic,, always tell brit bikes because we are the only ones allowed light protectors. I believe they are illegal in Holland.

Thats a good point to see about. I also run acid green are they also taboo in Italy never had a problem yet in germany with me smoke one or Austria and had plenty of interest in the bike but mainly due to touring on my own . They seem so supprised to see alone brit touring.:-0)

You just turn up on the day mate, i did have an email with the costs but accidently deleted it, maybe clive or daveh will pop by with the costs.

there is nothing to be paid for now and you will be able to settle it on arrival.

By all accounts we are going on the chunnel
outbound on the 10.20am on Thursday 18th Sept.
returning on the 15.20pm on Monday 22nd sept.

The idea being to give us a bit more touring time. we are trying to extend the camping on site to allow us to arrive on the Thursday/depart Monday. (now sorted)

Your more than welcome to join us for both journeys.
Ok heres the agenda for Thursday 18th.

I'm meeting DaveH and hopefully Tonymac at Duxford (texico garage) at 6.30am Fill tanks..(depart 7.00am). We'll then meet Iceni and WuzUK at around 7.20/7.30am at M25/A12 services. Once over the chunnel we'll fill up and have breakfast.
JohnH, Iceni and myself are taking disposible BBQ's for the first night and last (Sunday night), so anyone joining us should find enough cooking heat. Once we arrive at the camp site (approx 4miles from main highway/a few miles from local town) we'll do a beer and BBQ food run.
Friday we'll have a UK Birdie rideout... from friday pm on it'll be as per Dutch Bash spec.
Anyone going can meet us at either M25/A12 or Duxford/Texico.

Current exchange rate around ?0.82 = 1 euro. So for us 4 days camping, and the above all in (exc drinks) is ?29.52.

Nearly forgot, we are stopping on the run home to get some baccy...
Golden Virginia currently ?3.90/50g, amberleaf ?2.85/50g. Limit is 3kg and 3200 fags. :-:

EDIT: Chunnel costs; we paid ?56 return (on a short stay ticket). Bike + upto 2 passengers.
EDIT 7/7/2008 8pm. We now have permission to camp at t'groene dak for the dates 18th to 22nd Sept.

?56 (classed as a short stay) return ?28 each way.
Thats for bike and upto 2 people.

DaveH did the bookings online about a month ago. I would guess you can still book same times/dates, as squeezing a bike in should be possible. Be good to travel together.. the more the merrier. Booking in the name of Dave Hibbard.

Brilliant chap....
Garage is first left on donut off A12 at A12/M25 junction. As you turn into garage the cafe is on right, garage on left. Sorry don't know its name.
Will fix a time nearer the date, ball park is 35/45 minutes after we leave Duxford, so around 7 to 7.15am. My Moby No is 07927 018284. email cwroper@hotmail.co.uk.

No problem, are you looking at the long weekend (18/22nd), WuzUK managed to book chunnel on the same dates/time.
