Took my motorhome back to the company who painted the front end for me over 18 months ago. While washing it I noticed several areas have started to react beneath the paint and I need it sorted out. When I got to the company and saw the main man I was sort of expecting a bit of resistance to correcting it - not at all, he looked at it, said ‘it shouldn’t do that” and has agreed to start work on it 20th December. I’d expect they will need it for a few weeks to sort it out as it’s 2 wings and the bonnet that need doing.

Looked at this. Replaced it with lever valve recently.
Why do they make them with the bar bonded to spindle.

Is it possible to get it off??

How are you supposed to fix a leaking spindle??

I haven't a clue about what you are referring but I hazard a guess that anything leaking should be fixed with something that blocks up the leak :nusenuse:

Buy a new stopcock 22mm....end of.

Read the post:eek: - that's what I did.
That one wasn't leaking, but it needed a spanner to turn it.
The other one turns OK but drips a little.

The easy solution could be an o-ring under the nut but the bar at the top doesn't come off as like a wheel type.

I had that one in the vice since but its well and truly sized.

That is serviceable, the main assembly splits into three bits.

Was it leaking or not closing properly?
It was seized. Needed a spanner to turn it and with difficulty even then.
There's a lever valve there now.

Undo the nut below the handle and pack the gland that stops it leaking from the shaft !

Yes they do spit for servicing but most of the time its easier to just replace !

A tip for any valves like that to help prevent seizure is to open fully then turn back a quarter of a turn !
Thanks (y)
That was kinda my plan with the other one. That one is past restoration.

Got it yesterday but I've only got as far as transferring stuff from my old PS4 Pro. I'll be getting stuck in tonight so I'll report back after I've seen what the differences are.
