Bled the front and rear brakes, also did the clutch as well. Fresh fluid throughout the systems.

Refitted the fairings, they are not easy in spite of plenty of silicone grease in the appropriate areas. Refitted front mudguard.

just a couple of things to do tomorrow and then it’s finished. What shall I buy next? This looks rather nice.

Very nice but not quite there, I have always fancied a SB6 or a YB6

The Thunderace engine in the yb11are known for burning a bit or a lot of oil depending on how lucky you are, its down to a hell of a lot of them having slightly oval barrels, great engine otherwise

Unfortunately the Bimota lifted the ace engine complete so are not immune to the problem

I’ve got a SB6 to do full rebuild on, once the owner finds a suitable 1100 motor to go into it. Probably next year now.

Sold an 1127 a couple of months ago :)

There are plenty around still if you know where to look, so getting one shouldn't be much of a problem, what is wrong with the original motor? Asking because I know them inside out & not much kills them & even on the odd occasion some numpty manages it there are still enough bits around to rebuild one for not a lot

Partly I think he can’t find it. Which to me suggests he has too much bike stuff squirrelled away, what with a T160, a rocket 3 ( BSA) a Ducato or two, couple of Busas in his display, the Katana I built, a ZX12R, several bikes upstairs in a storeroom, and goodness knows what at home. What comes of having a m/c dealership for 40 odd years I guess.

Went to B&Q to get some screws & drill bits, passed pugneys Country park on the way, the car par was full, cars were parked on the grass at the side of the road, the park itself was heaving, there were more there than you’d get for a summer event, what lockdown?

Shifted a bit of crap about ( moved it from my workshop upstairs to various locations )
Trying to make a hole somewhere on a bench to accomodate a 3D printer... still a long way off that though.. made just about enough room to put a screw driver down !!

Shifted the finished ped round to the garage and brought the next one round to the workshop for a service and overhaul

Finished putting the ZZR back together. Then started to have a look at my jigsaw puzzle, it rained so I didn’t take the bikes out of the garage yet. Maybe tomorrow. If they are anything like the ones I have down make sure you leave plenty of expansion room.
If I have the door open and the sun comes in, it doesn't take much to make them bubble.
I left a good inch all the way round but because there are things sitting on them it stops the
expansion sideways so the only way is up!

Mine's not that impressive (or nuts!), I only have about 15. Mine range from pennies to reasonable to ooof, but then prices are very subjective. On the watch forum I visit occasionally, quite a few of them have, for example, the platinum Daytona (expensive version of what Steve McQueen wore) and that starts at £55k, if you can get one. I have the bum basic stainless steel version, which has been superseded.

Then there's the Patek Phillippe Nautilus, which quite a few of them have. It's a stainless steel watch, retails at 'only' £23k but it's so desirable that the waiting list is about ten years and a year old one from a grey dealer will run you £65k if you're lucky. I'm kicking myself for not picking one up at £30k when I had the chance back in 2017.
