Instructed a landscape contractor, went to the golf driving range to work on the driving then back to see what he had done.

Which was actually rather good.

which was nice.

Trackday at Silverstone. Dry this morning but windy. Then the rain came so I put the wet wheels on which was all good. However the wind got insane. They were constantly evaluating whether to stop the day for safety. A real challenging day. Loved it (y)

I had exactly the same issues with the garden furniture overnight.

Did a bit of shopping and tidied up the garage trying to make room for a skylift and hopefully a small lathe, going to be a tight fit but doable I think .

Dropped the car off for an alloy wheel refurbishment IT WASN’T ME.

Got a Mini Cooper S “John Cooper Works” courtesy car.

what a pile of crap. Like the engine start switch and the interior door handle. That’s it.

Golf. I was awful. Probably the result of sitting in a Mini for 15 miles before 8 started, back hurts like hell now.

Had a belated Xmas present delivered: a selection of cheese.

Nice.

Planned or emergency.?
Doctor's orders, I've had a migraine for two weeks.

I was there until 0300 Saturday morning and sent home with a box of co-codamol. Mrs Plops made me dial 111 on friday night because I'd had the migraine for a week. After hours GP called me and sent me straight to hospital. After blood and ECG showed normal, the registrar said I 'didn't meet the criteria for an out-of-hours scan' and the cause was a most likely because I'd developed a tolerance for my migraine medication* (I have about four migraines a year and each time requires two or three pills to get rid, depending how soon I catch it).

Wednesday afternoon, I was pole-axed with another so contacted my own GP and she called me straight down to surgery. I told her what happened over the weekend and she lost her sense of humour with the hospital. She called them and then wrote a letter 'advising' them to give me a scan. All turned out normal but the possibility of a small bleed on the brain can't be ruled out. I'm now on a mega-dose of aspirin (600mg four times a day) and a stomach liner for five days. if that doesn't sort it then they'll consider a lumbar puncture to withdraw fluid to see if there's a bleed.

Today is the first time I've woken up without a headache of some sort since Friday before last.

*I told my GP that I thought the suggestion that I'd built up a tolerance to my pills was BS and she agreed. She said if I'd been dropping them like Smarties then fair enough but a maximum of 12 a year? Not likely. However, the triptan family of pills used to treat such conditions don't work after a migraine has been present for ten days, hence the aspirin.

Best of luck with all that.
I used to get bad migrane over 30 years ago.
It was partly diet related.
But I began doing TM (transcendental meditation) seems to have cured it.
I've had it about 5 times in 30 years.

It was really bad, headache, diarrhoea and throwing up - sometimes at the same time. Numbness in my thumbs.

Good luck with it all.

As ever once you know what it is wrong you’ll probably feel,a,whole lot better.

Just about to go and pick the car up,after alloy refurbishment.

Didn't you have a spare ;) that could be used while your wheel was refurbed?

Seems daft to lose use of the vehicle just to get a wheel refurbed.

By the way, do have a careful look at it before accepting, they have a habit of doing a quick refurbs without removing either wheel from vehicle or tyre from wheel - looks good on first inspection but doesn't last.

Guess how I know! It's a favourite when insurance company are paying.

Washed the bike after a long all day run on Wednesday and the front of me jacket where I was targeted by some feckin bird dropping ballast, surprising how it spreads at 80 mph:mad:.
containered up a massive spag bog and a crockpot of chilli for the freezer, contemplating mowing the dandelions now.

As it happens I have a full, set of alloys with new tyres. Much easier just to drop it off at the bmw dealer and get a free courtesy car though.

Even if it was a Mini. Last time I had an 850....... sigh
