Had an appointment this morning at 09:40 for my blood pressure taking to see if I need to go on anti-coagulants.
Arrived for appointment at ten past nine (I’m always early,) ten fifteen I’d still not been seen so I went to the reception window & pointed out that my appointment was 35 minutes ago, “there’s two to go then you” I was told, the person who went in before I went to the window had arrived after my appointment time.
I asked how they could be so far behind so early in the day, the answer I got was “Dr Craven is always late, he has to travel from Sheffield” I asked if that was meant to be a valid excuse, pointing out that if she was constantly late she would be sacked, I then told her to rebook my appointment, she told me that I may as well wait just a little longer as I’d been there over an hour, I told her that as I was there for my blood pressure taking then they would get a false reading so I would be better returning when I am calmer, she booked me in for first appointment on 12th march with the other partner.
I am still considering whether to send an email of complaint.

On the bright side, I had confirmation yesterday that my blood pressure is now fine after some irregular readings last year ear.

On the less bright side I have given the vet £697 so far this week, more to come tomorrow.

Has your ear got dodgy blood pressure?

On the bright side, I have low blood pressure so it’s not something I have to worry about.

Being an adult for a second, I assume it’s George at the vet. I hope he’s ok.

Low blood pressure is as bad as high blood pressure....

Thank you for the kind words on George. He has had a tough few weeks and is returning to the vet on a daily basis at the moment, dosed up to the eyeballs on opiate. It is quite upsetting to see his behaviour each day as it wears off, the human equivalent to 'the munchies'. If he is still with us this time next week he should be fine, fingers crossed at the moment but I am feeling quite optimistic.

This is what he looked like after his shot of opiate on Tuesday....

Not always, generally low blood pressure is not a problem unless it is a sudden drop as I had the other week, my AF was 180 but my blood pressure dropped to 30 which was cause for concern, all seems fine now.
When I was about 11 years old I had low bp & the Doctor told my mum to make sure I had a can of stout every day, I hated the stuff & usually poured it down the sink.

By the way, I forgot to apologise for one of my former youth players scoring the winner against your lot last week.....

No apologies needed, football is about scoring goals, something we are struggling with at the moment, small squad & injuries don’t help plus EFL giving us three games in six days, just hope we can beat West Brom tonight.

Back on topic, last year I had to go to the Doctors for my annual patronising session where the quack talks down to you as if you are a naughty 5 year old.

After waiting about 45 minutes I got summonsed in.

Her opening words were

Dr. "And so, how do you know you suffered a heart attack?"

Me. "The head of the cardiology unit told me during my stay"

Dr. "And what makes you believe that you are suffering from heart failure?"

Me. "The same Doctor at the cardiology unit told me after I had been admitted."

Dr. " And why are you not on statins to help your cholesterol?"

Me. "Maybe that is a question you should be asking the Cardiology unit. I just take the tablets I am told to take".

Anyway, I was prescribed statins which lasted about a week as they made me feel like crap and I have not taken them since and they have even been dropped from my repeat prescription.

Whole appointment took less than 5 minutes and I still don't think that said Doctor gave a sh1t.

But as someone as said, go the the Vet and they are able to accurately diagnose an ailment without a single word being spoken.

At my annual 'MOT' the first thing commented on (by a nurse, don't even get to see the GP) was why was I not on statins.
Two minutes later when she had looked at my blood results, she was more than happy with my low cholesterol levels. Diet and exercise I told her!

Buy yourself a decent upper arm BP monitor. Take your own BP on a regular basis and show them the results. Eliminates the blue/white coat syndrome ( and the pressure from delayed appointments.)

On it already, got an Omron that also does bp.
