DivX DVD players Advice...

Murt

Letch
I'm on the hunt for a new DVD player, would like it to be 5:1 sound as I have reasonable speakers in position already.

I have been told that DivX players are the new 'thing' as they are usually multi region and have all the whistles and bells.
The only one I can find info about is ... Hyundai DivX 501P player ....

Anyone know anything about them, have any ( reasonable and semi sensible) advice?
or other options.
Money IS an object..

Thanks in advance...

I had a Yamada something or other that was fine on DivX and XviD, SVCD, multi-region etc. I replaced it with a modded xbox though, as I now stream music and videos from a shared PC drive.

Amazon.co.uk sell several Yamada players at a good price. Mine was just a plain player, but modern ones include ethernet ports and onboard hard drive etc for letting you copy movies to them to watch. Expect to pay about ?40 for a basic capable model. User interface and remote controls are usually dire though.

More info here perhaps:

(Yamada are a UMax company I think, the scanner people)
