Dirty weekend

just had a really dirty weekend................in the garage..............with my bike!!!

Frames sprayed, panels and tank sprayed. Oh, that was sone last weekend, Derek sprayed, I just did the prepping. Panels and tank done by a chap up the road........don't look too close!! Spent this weekend degreasing the engine........yuck. also took on the unenviable task of polishing my footpeg hangers.....not sure if this is a good idea or not:dunno: Still will see what they turn out like.

All that rubbing has given me a sore arm!

What else did I do? Well, got in the way a bit, erm, asked lots of questions, painted side stand, centre stand and a frame supporting bracket black. Today, stuck on the fender extender but it had to be restuck as it was......crap! Forks are on now, oils drained, cables and wiring being re-connected. Looking for bolts that have disappeared. Rear wheel back on, shock re-adjusted.

all taking shape........slowly!

I have signed up, bravely, for two track days this year. One at Mallory and the other at Llandow. Both with rapid training who are fantastic.

Would have liked to do Cadwell, but can't fit it into my busy schedule!!!

I am also doing an 8 week (sundays) Rospa advanced riding course too!

If my bike had been a Bros, I could have done it like this. Yes believe it or not this.........was a Honda Bros!!

Clive...........

I wish mine was like this, I would be over the moon, I think this is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Mine is very amateurishly done. Mainly because of the cost.

I bought the bike for ?900 because I couldn't afford anything else. so doing it up is also on a small budget.

I didn't think there was much point in throwing alot of money into it when the resale will not even recoup me the ?900. So this is just to keep me going for a few years until I have the extra dosh.

It will look alot better than it did, thats for sure and with Melvins seat will look rather smart.

Mind you, I have probably spent over ?500 on it so far. the seat is a large chunk. Derek paid for the panels and tank respray, I would think nearly ?200, they had to be fixed up as were broken and the tank had some dents. It was my Xmas pressy from him.

I shall have to tally it all up at the end.

Wolfie

Is a lunp
?900, for how ever many years you keep it, for enjoyment well worth it in my opion.

my first big bike was a cx500, blew it up fixed it, blew it again sold it, was given it back now sits in my dads garagea waiting for my brother to learn to ride. I paid ?450 for it sold it for ?200, repairing it the first time cost about ?200. so it cost me 450 for 3 years use, and gave me much much more enjoyment than ?450 could .

Love it, ride it, its yours.

Hey, try not to think of what it cost, you will never be able to put a price on the satisfaction you will get from doing it up and then riding it

As Wolverine said "Love it, Ride it,It's Yours"

My first bike had a bl**dy engine in the back wheel, and i enjoyed that!

I had a dirty weekend too, well a dirty Saturday at least.....

I went out for a few hours got the bike covered in shit and salt and spent 2 dirty hours cleaning the bloody thing :B Winter riding :t Time for a second bike I think :yo: one I'm not gonna be too bothered about if it gets a bit crappy; what about a Supermoto, anyone ridden one ? It sort of appeals 'cos I did two seasons of motoX years ago, but I wonder how they handle on the road?

This took a little longer than a weekend. Cost over ?6000.
I was very lucky to sell it for a good price.

Really enjoyed doing it, BUT would advise anyone else `NOT TO GO THERE`.
Once you start, you have to keep going. You can not put any old bits back on, with all the new stuff. What`s that saying `Don`t spoil the ship for a hapeth of tar` .
