Ok,

After spending hundreds of pounds last month, and countless hours, I have limited disposable income this month.

So -

New bike boots. Currently have Sidi Vertebras which I've had for over 20 years. The sole is just starting to come away but they're perfectaly useable.

New kevlar cargo pant trouser type things. Have Rawland jacket and pant but in the summer the leather is a bit too hot so thinking of these - https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/merlin-portland-cargo-jeans-2004398/

Front suspension upgrade. The whole kit from JAWS.

Rear suspension upgrade. Carried out by our own John.

So, what do you all think?

Boots and trousers both count as safety gear and as such must come before mechanical upgrades. The question then is which is in most need of replacement.

None of them really. They are all in good nick. They are all cleaned and oiled reasonably frequently.

If the bike rides fine as it is then I'd get the boots.
If the bike handles like a fat bird on the piss then suspension upgrade....if the bike has stock suspension then do the front first.

Sidi Vertebra summer boots - the ones with perforated leather - are superb in hot weather.

I finally started wearing an alternative to leather pants last year. Not cargo, but these:

https://www.dainese.com/gb/en/motor...55089.html?dwvar_201755089_color=MEDIUM-DENIM

They wear like normal jeans so when off the bike, they’re not dragging on the ground behind you. There’s little pockets for hip armour too. I used to keep the darker pair on in the office on dress down days, great piece of kit (y)

I did look at denim but I just don't wear jeans Never really have.

My Sidi Vertebras dont have the perforated leather but I've never had a issues with them being too hot. I do have an issue if I'm doing a lot of walking around in them though!

I started wearing 'Kevlar jeans when I bought the XT, 2yrs ago.
They are my go to trousers now, for any of the bikes, as they are also a lot more comfortable when off the bike.

Red Route 007 Cargo pants.

Wife's got a pair of Hood jeans. Well worth a look. They also do combats if you don't fancy denims.

Front suspension upgrade. T
This is an easy job to do and the results are very noticeable..Out of the list this is, in my opinion, the most rewarding

I'm thinking this is the way I'll go.

I've just watched a youtube about using two pieces of PVC pipe to make a slide hammer. Simple yet brilliant!

Dunno what you are gonna use that for !!!!
You put the bike on centre stand and support under the front of the zorst.
Undo the top caps, using a bent coat hanger fish out the old springs and spacers.. slide the new springs and spacers back in and put the top caps back on !

I should have specified, I'm going to clean, strip and repaint them while I'm at it. They are very chipped and look awful.
