Please excuse Horny and Dick for being late home tonight.
It was only because they stopped off to bring a bit of cheer to some ole biker bloke they know. And got a bit lost!!
I have every sympathy with that, I normally have a belting sense of direction but after 7 years I still can't find my way round Coventry at all. People keep telling me things are well-signposted but unless you happen to know know that Walsgrave is on the way to Rugby/Leicester from where you happen to be - how would you realise you needed to go that way?
Pete very much appreciated their visit and we detected more than a suspicion of moistness around the ocular region after they went. I think he was a bit touched - well you all know that already don't you!
Corinne and I had to go out whilst they were there, those nurses are quite strict (some people like that, don't they? LOL) about the only 2 visitors per bed thing! - to be honest I don't blame them as everyone else on the ward has had major surgery - it's the Cardio Thoracic ward and contains the ITU for the heart & lung surgery patients.
Apparently if Pete had gone in at the time of the accident, they would have admitted him because of his ribs, but he would have been admitted to the orthopaedic ward. As it was, his orthopaedic probs were already 'sorted' and he was admitted because of his lungs. Although it means we can't have a paaaarty round his bed - you have to respect the rules in this case, as everyone else is/has been very ill.
Anyway he has had the drainage tube out and had a shower this morning! First one since last Saturday night so that must have been a relief to everyone concerned LOL
If he continues to improve, I hope he'll be home early next week.
