Still kickin' it!
Well, after such a brilliant season I've got round to putting together my "Estoril Experience". My wrists are healing up nicely, but I'm still prone to unprovoked crying fits; in fact: my vision's beggining to blur a liddle, wight now.. :B :dunno: :}

Hope you enjoy the site... R#?

Hahaha dont think your going to get away with it that easily do you m8 :-:

I can relate to your tales..I was sitting on the roadside in the middle of nowhere in France franticly pressing the alarm fob and nothing happening :bang:
classic lol .. my meta alarm is now where it belongs.. in the bin, first thing I did when we got home.. Not put me off tho, cant wait to get back over the water and after reading about your trips we will have to do one of the European rounds of the GP's as well

BTW. DA, do you use a rack with your panniers or are they just throw overs ?? Thought Lorraine would have been pestering you for a back rest before now as well ???
I have just got a set of Givi panniers for next year as I found the throw overs to be hard work, hope Ive done the right thing because they look very wide

keep up the good work on your site mate and there are some cracking pics on there too :yo:

hope the panda man dont get me when Im asleep h1d1ng2

They're just throwovers, OB - takes about two minutes to fit them. They're not as wide as the hard luggage and that's essential when (er..) making progress on some of the more inviting european roads - especially in the mountains :lick: - and it makes filtering through stationary motorway traffic in the UK much safer, too! :p

Joking apart, Lorraine doesn't actually need a back rest because the fastest I'm prepared to go is 47 mph (and then, obviously, only when travelling in a straight line), so the requirement is redundant...:rolleyes: :}

Of course you can, M8! :k We're actually thinking about next year right now - I reckon we should set up a touring company and make a proper job of it! :}

Think I tend to over engineer a tad with the throwovers.. couple of bungees on each side etc etc.. We will probably be doing a long weekend up to the lakes or Scotland before we go over the water so I will keep hold of my throwovers just in case I dont get on with the hard stuff...

now that sounds like a plan :)

Cheers, Paul! A very high probability is that we'll go to Mugello and then ride over to Barcelona for the Catalunya GP.
Others are on the cards (Jerez/Assen/Valencia), but this trip has been the favourite since last year because a certain person (who shall be nameless) couldn't keep his big mouth shut on the way to Millau!

June 3 Italy Mugello and June 10 Catalunya - should be a belter!

Speak soon!

Cool, Excellent!!! :yo: I'm doin' one next year, but won't know which till I know my work commitments early next year. Any probs with accomodation due to the races or did ya book early??

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
Gladya liked it, Rave. Book early because many of the European rounds have been selling out - especially 2006 when Nicky Hayd... Accommodation close to the tracks sells out very early in the year, too, so best to get it sorted soon!

Eric, as well written and entertaining as ever. I'm guessing that you write just as you speak, thereby making it a very interesting and easy read.

Thanks for that.

Reading it and looking at some of those beautiful pictures also brought back memories of our foreign trips this year, though unfortunately we didnt make any race meetings, unless you count a round of the german supermoto championship. No? Thought not.

But maybe in 2007, hoping to do LeMans and Assen. If SWMBO wasn't a teacher (and therefore restricted to school hols) we'd do Mugello/Catalunya for certain. A week travelling from Italy through the south of France and into Spain? I'm jealous already.

Perhaps we do need to organise something on here to Assen or LeMans? Any takers?

Not really had too much problem with using my panniers abroad, especially in France as every bugger moves out of the way. Even in Italy when we were filtering in a motorway jam they just seem to want to let you go!

Are you still hoping to make your own pannier mounts? If so, we may need to talk...

Cheers, Lebs. Your comments are much appreciated. I hope we can get together next season on our travels...

It's looking more like Misano/Catalunya for 2007. Very early days, of course, but we could well be looking at Assen and a couple of others as Valentino starts to reassert his authority... b0x1  :p

Assen it is for us Eric, swambo has got the week off and we are booking to meet up with mr and mrs Lebs on the Friday before race day as we will probably already be over the water ...

Have you gave Assen anymore thought mate ??? would be nice if you both could make it ???

and even better when Nicky wins again :p
