Bugger~~

Richard - Commercial Rates go directly to the Government.

All your local council do is to collect them for the Gov't and get [I suspect] a healthy commission on collections made.

Bugger all you can do about it though..................

Pay Up of Go To Jail!!!

and does everybody get

three Water bills for their businesss premises? - Severn Trent send you one for water, one for Sewerage and one for rainwater drainage.

Also the tip in Coventry automatically classes anything arriving in a van as Trade Waste. Therefore if you have eg a 3 piece suite to get rid of, cheaper to get the firm delivering your new one to take the old one away. Therefore a friend - who drives a van as his private vehicle - borrows another friend's Jag specially to go to the tip when he does an oil change!

Nuneaton & Bedworth BC have just recently stuck a sticker on our wheelie bin at home to say they won't empty them now if the lid's ajar, only if its flat. Notice they didn't try that before Xmas, eh?

When I lived in Kidder one year I crossed out all the services I didn't want to participate in, like anything to do with education (no kids), social services (not a scrounger) etc etc. Didn't work obviously!

And I've just remembered this one - in Kidder I had a card through the door one day saying that the bin men couldn't empty my bin because the entrance way was blocked. I wouldn't have minded if the alleged blockage had been a pyracantha or something else with spikes. As it was, it was next door's honeysuckle which had burst into glorious flower all over the dividing fence. It was indeed 'all over the place' but it was so beautiful and smelled so lovely, no way were we cutting it down till it finished flowering. I did write and enquire whether it had tried to twine its tendrils round the bin man and strangulate him, or what? Never had an answer to that letter either!

Rant by all means if it makes yer feel better mate. Won't do you any good whatsoever though, so you might as well cough up and look happy!

have to agree as same here ?7,000 per year for rates and then pay to have your bin empited.

And to add insult to injury 2 fooken jobswoths from the HSE came round. They spotted a bottle of Bleach in the upstairs bog. Now I have to have a fooken hazard warning sign in there in case one of us drinks it or decides to wash their eyes out with it C**TS:f

DOH just heard rates around here expected to go up by at least 8%:B :B

There rant over

Should try South Shropshire

We are one of the highest taxed countys when it comes to council tax,, ours is currently ?125 month,, and its going up by a huge inflation beating 16 to 20%,, it went up 20% last year,, main reason for the increase was to keep the council workers index linked pensions on target:mad:

WELL I HAVE HAD A PHOOKIN NUFF:mad: selling up buying a motor home and phookin off to sunnier climes. NOw this really pisses me off. Did you know that 1 in 4 of the working population is a civil servent ( or as i like to call them " an un-civil kunt" ) no wonder our taxes are so high,,,,

We need to take to the streets and finish what Guy Fawkes started.

Ahhhhhhhhhh thats better,,,, whers me spliff

Yup till the council stick a speed camera at the end of your drive

We Have to pay for the privilege of getting nicked down here, about ?250 per year on top of council tax and this year they have just announced that they are short of the odd ?5 million so they are going to stick that on the tax too

Would not mind if they were spending it wisely, but we have to fit air heaters in some of the police vans. we have just finished doing two of there "care in the community vans" you know the ones to try and get you to like them a bit more, the vans are brand new high tops, about ?15,000 fitted out with a generator ?750, 3 computers ?3000, get this a 52" flat screen plasma TV ?8000, a 24" flat screen tv ?500, a play station 2 with games (honest I am not joking) ?300 inc games, heating ?1600, pilot seat swivel chairs ?1200, Video player ?150 and two fat coffee swilling doughnut eating twats ?60,000 per year + overtime + bonus + sick pay + early retirement due to injury.

PS Bert can we use more than three smillies, I need to badly.

Oooo I've gone and got meself all annoyed now.....

Any way with lights whistles and bells it comes to ?100,000 each
That is ?200,000 of our money just to tell us to like them !!!

I have to go find me a cat to kick bye

The local waste tips round here class all vans as carrying trade waste. They re-direct you to another tip (15 miles away) and then charge you for the pleasure.
I have a Bedford rascal, so have to use my car to get rid of rubbish. When I get to the local tip I can't get near because of commercial gardeners off-loading green waste. The have big 4 wheel drives with trailers, and come complete with their name printed on the jackets! They NEVER seem to get stopped.
Also when you do get to the skip, the council employee is IN the skip, trawling for goodies to sell on local boot sales!

No wonder there is fly-tipping.

"Me convict mates all hate this place , they long for Mother England .. But what in the hell has she got I declare . The chimneys are a smoking , they're smelly and they're choking and the Dukes own every Bunny Rabbit there !!! "
.
Fella's , don't you just wish that your Great Great Great Grandfather was a crook ....
.
$ 7000 for council rates ... thats about half the average annual salary for the working class over here .... man I thought $400 was too rich
