cotswolds roads

what is good or crap ,

need to put a route together for the local club, for this bank holiday monday, and they want to go to the cotswolds, will be coming in from aylesbury way.

so anything this side of gloucester, around witney, evesham, what roads do you locals ride????

i head up that way quite a lot... recommend the following... though i think they are all pretty common knowledge


b4030 (nice to connect with b4011 from long crendon if you're coming from aylesbury via thame)
b4035 (chipping campden to banbury)
a361 (lechlade - burford)
b4077 (stow on the wold towards tewkesbury)
b4632 (toddington - broadway)
b4079, b4080 to pershore from b4077
b4450 (chipping camden - stow)
b4425 (burford - cirencester)

If you're on that A40 again Andy watch out for a couple more Gatso's. There's a pair near the Brize Norton turning and there is another pair somewhere across that stretch, but I can't think where. Ther's also one just a couple of miles before Cheltenham.

bank holiday monday expect 20,000 bikes to trundle down the A21 (i think) to hastings for the yearly battle of hastings run.

Once down there it is fine, but the amount of camera vans, unmarked cars etc etc it is a feckin nightmare to get there.


Joe, cotswolds on bank holiday monday if the bird is sorted then i am going, it will be fine, some nice wide roads with plenty of overtaking places, anyways the route is 280 miles long so the window lickers will not be wanting to go as it is too far will take too long etc etc etc
