Now then...seeing as i'm on annual leave and bored.
I had a quick peruse on my works e-mails.
New 'rfm' regional facilities manager had cc'd me into some trivial ranting
about contracting repairs regarding the cctv system. There are greater issues at hand in my book.
Everyone he replied to in the conversation he used the normal black typo font.
I get my add on message in red typo?
Even though the message was a 'heads up' really and no hint of powermongering..
I have met the guy a few times, seems pleasant enough.
Although i have never worked along side him so to speak.
Am i being old fashioned here or just put it down to him being a bit of an ignoramus.
or is this a sign of times to come?
Interestingly i found this on the tinterweb, it's in the same vein i suppose.

It's maybe a bit of 'I'm feeling guilty for not being at work and need to feel like I am doing something'.

Email as communication is generally pretty dangerous as it does not have any way of expressing tone - the recipient tends to read it in line with how they are either feeling at the time or how they feel about the subject.

Bit like this forum:D

Does the email system automatically put an add on message in red? Or am I reading the original point wrongly?

WHAT DOES RED CAPS MEAN?

Oh, redcap - a murderous malevolent goblin from Scotshire -does that fit? :risas3:

Ah, if the email you have received has been edited by someone before transmission the alterations may appear in a different colour if they weren't accepted by the original writer - from memory the default colour is blue but I would hazard to guess it can be changed.

However, if it's in red and bold AND capitals they are probably just shouting at you electronically.:eaea:
