I am supporting my wife by staying outside and painting the fence!
I am lucky that I have to go to work through the week - MoD.
And I attribute my on going good health to regular intake of alcohol.

Edit for @Pow-Lo, yes she has fantastic tits.

Good luck with that - my mrs was outside painting railway sleepers ten minutes ago in bright sunshine - it is now absolutely chucking it down, rain and hail, filthy black, cloud as far as the eye can see.

I suppose I'll let her in when I get hungry enough.

A little parochial this one but it shows that people are thinking of others.

My son's business was acquired by a big corporation toward the end of last year. Not great timing for my son as he was expecting to be invited to be a partner this April. Also anyone who has had their business taken over will know how unsettling it is.

On top of this he has had a rough time with a new baby who was hospitalised for many weeks after birth and that obviously impacted his ability to contribute to the business in the same way as he normally would. Not a great place to be when working for new people who don't really know you.

On top of that he moved house post takeover, taking on a big mortgage.

Since Covid19 kicked off all the staff were told 'no promotions, no bonuses and pay freeze'

So all in all a tough time.

Yesterday he got a call from his new boss telling him that he was promoted on 1 April but not to tell anyone else in the business as there had not been any other promotions No pay rise for the moment but 'they will see him right' once the Covid19 crisis is over'. He said the reason he was calling was that he knew what a crap time he had had recently and thought it would be good to have some good news.

He didn't have to do that. He didn't have to promote him - son certainly wasn't expecting it.

As I say, a little parochial, but what a lift for son and his family in these dark days.

Just had an email from my mum saying that Waitrose have left a Thornton Easter Egg on the doorstep of each of the 35 units in the retirement home where she lives. She was really chuffed!

Morrisons adding a big Easter eg and a bunch of daffodils to orders being collected for those stuck at home.

Chap who lives opposite the local Morrisons saying I could park in his drive away anytime I needed to even after this crap is over when he saw me delivering medication to his neighbour.

The little things really do make a difference.

Ps if anyone is thinking of cynical comment along the lines of 'they are just getting rid of stuff they can't sell'...please don't (y)

Regarding the promotion, my daughter is currently working from home, on the first day she received a generic email telling everyone some would have to take furlough or there would be redundancies, my daughter volunteered for furlough as she wants to protect her job, her boss rang her & told her he didn’t want her to take furlough as nobody else could do her job, she said if they get stuck to ring her & she’d talk them through it, the boss was over the moon calling Sarah “a legend” I just hope she hasn’t sold her own job, she starts furlough on Tuesday.

all I can hear Is the birds singing.

No planes, no traffic.

Just the birds.

Amazing to think this is how it was all the time once.

It is rather lovely.
