I've been trying to sort out my mates camera software and it's driving me around the bend :bang: :bang:

His kids bought him a digi camcorder/still camera. The software that came with it is Roxio Photosuite 4.0 SE - the disc shows a picture of the camera on it's label.

When I install the software and try to connect to the camera to download pictures, the software asks me to choose the camera from the list displayed....... but the camera is not in the list! If I choose another one and proceed I then get a message saying camera not connected, even though a hot shoe disconnect icon appears in the tray. If i just switch the camera off, or pull the usb out I get a message saying I should disconnect using the hot shoe icon provided, so it does know it's connected. If I ignore the list I can't move on :bang:

I've tried choosing every camera in the list in case this camera just emulates one of those listed but to not avail.

I can't understand why the camera is not in the list even though it's pictured on the disc. I've installed the driver.

Roxio's website support is a feckin' nightmare - second only to the dreaded AOHell. The automated help assistant (Roxann!!) wont/cant answer the question. Phone help is ?1 per minute :bang: Which, to me, is a ripoff when you buy a new product which won't feckin' work!!

Can anybody offer any help before I take an axe to the computer :bang:

Guess this will be no help to you...

But we have had the same problem trying to download pictures from a Nokia phone, the PC just will not accept that there is a phone attached, despite various messages saying connections have taken place, turns out its something to do with Windows XP.

We had to do a search on the web, and have found a long and convuluted [sp] way of doing it, but have not actually had time to try it yet.

Soooo if you are on XP that could be your prob....

I had the same thing with my Nokia 6230, the problem was that the Nokia Pc suite that I got with my phone (which was the same as I got with my DKU-2 cable) was not updated to accomodate the 6230 so I went onto the website and downloaded the latest pc suite which I believe is Nokia PC Suite 6.0.
hope this helps Coddy.
