If Cameron doesn't get the message now after 140 innocent people massacred in France then it can only suggest an ulterior motive & I could hazard a guess as to that motive, no doubt Davey B will deny what's happening.

As laudable as the Schengen accord is ( was ? ), I think last nights outrages have confirmed it is pretty much a dead duck now.

I agree, John.

If the "refugees" haven't killed it the terrorists certainly will. Many countries are building fences already. Once a terrorist is in the Schengan area he/she is free to travel anywhere. I think there will be a lot of people arrested in Europe over the next few days as the hunt for the !!!!! who organised and facilitated this murderous rampage heats up. We are fortunate in that the security sevices can watch who comes and goes over our borders.

There have already been threats to close the border at Calais/ Coquelles by the French because of the migrant issue, we have seen border crossing points between Germany and Austria restricted, we have seen fences going up in Hungary. We are are an island and so it could be a good reason to change how we manage entry into the country. I am not for one minute saying this is solely because of the migrant issue, I am not, but it could be strongly argued that it should be a consideration.

If others are taking such action of closing borders, should we also? Should we impose FULL, and I mean 100%, entry and exit checks? Would this just be a knee jerk reaction? Would closing the border stop the potential for such atrocities on British soil?

There are considerable financial and logistical barriers to consider in order to impose such a closure and it would have a severe impact on much of the country. Are prepared to accept this? Do we have the resources to deal with it? Would we have to ask our armed forces to invoke their duty to assist in the enforcement of our border controls?

So much to think about, so many questions with a whole host of answers...

The enemy within! Our only hope is the monitoring of potential threats already here and ensuring no new threats enter.

Ask yourself this, if your family was affected by what has happened in Paris, would a financial consideration be an issue for you? I think not.

Oh! come on, Derek, everyone knows that people who think like we do are just racists. Some say Muslims are not all the same. I say, they are all of the same teaching and therefore have the same potential to turn terrorist. An extreme view no doubt but one I cannot get out of my mind. I worry about my grandchildren's future.

I too was shocked by the news this morning ....
Why do people do such things ??
Suicide bombers ?? WTF ?? Is there anywhere safe from nutters now ??

Closing all borders is a bit of a knee jerk reaction...
And possibly overkill !
Not to mention that idiots like these may already be in many countries as sleeper cells awaiting their calling

But as an island .... We should tighten ALL border controls and flood the Channel tunnel ...

Yeah, and all Catholics were/are paedophiles because the church taught them and then they became members of the IRA, sorry Barrie, You can't tar everyone with the same brush. Having worked in the Middle East and travelled all over the world I can tell you that the majority of Muslims are as disgusted as we are over these atrocities.

The moderate side of me agrees with you, Howard. I just wonder when these disgusted Muslims are going to "Man up" and fight against those who bring anger on their religion and way of life. Remember when we were told, " You can't call them Christmas lights" it offends the Muslims, you must call them festive lights. Well, the Muslim beliefs offend me but apparently, I'm not allowed to tell them.

Who told you, Barrie? :dunno:

Clueless in most things
Nuke Raqqa and be done with it

The middle east has always been a shit hole and I think it's time to be honest. Saddam and Gadaffi killed fewer than when the west intervened and killed even more. Isis did not exist under Gadaffi

Either get out the big one and let them have it to know their place or accept the middle east needs bullies because they kill less than we do

I think the plague of migrants swarming their way throughout Europe has proven that.
I don't know what happens to the migrants at these processing centres in Greece, Cyprus or wherever else they land but they should all be DNA tested (as should we IMHO) as a first step.

That's true to an extent, Gadafi and Hussain kept things relatively in check (apart from the odd war/invasion). I blame Tony Blair and his mate for most of this shit that's going on today, they totally destabilised the region.
