It would be remiss of me not to mention how clever I've found one aspect of the vehicle while visiting French France.

The car uses a combination of the camera recognising road signs (including temporary roads works etc) plus data via the sat nav system.

That car also displays on the dash the current speed limit.

Where it gets really useful is it reads the French road signs then translates that to MPH on the limit display.

Damm clever these BMW peeps!

I can change the display in my Range Rover from MPH to KMH, the Satnav can be set to show me the current speed limit on the road I'm on.

The technology is really good these days.

I can choose to let the speed limiter use the displayed speed limit.

I found the blackbird digi dash ability to choose either Mph or Kph useful.

It was just a pleasant surprise this time as I hadn't read the manual (why would I) and didn't need to touch or adjust anything, it just worked.

Only thing I had read up on was not to use the auto headlight function.
The car has additional LED lights in the headlight that can spread the beam further, follow turns etc.
Manually turning the headlights on means those functions aren't used and so nothing needs to be done to avoid dazzling other road users.

I wouldn’t worry about dazzling other road users - I have the adaptive headlights on permanently and I have never been ‘flashed’ (matron!) by oncoming traffic. The main beam other switches itself off or swings down or, more often than not, toward the kerb. It’s also really cool that it illuminates road signs as you approach them.

Mine has the lazer lights, only complaint I have had is from a lady In Belgium when I was travelling through Kent.

My Merc MH does the same with speed limit signs and the temporary signs. The LED headlights are f-bright and dazzle oncoming traffic on dip beam, and blind everyone around on main. Apparently the fog lamps change direction going around corners.

My headlights, fog lights, indicators, in fact the whole car changes direction as I go round corners.

Found out last week that my car has auto dipping headlights, first time I'd driven it in the dark since buying it - miss the heated steering wheel my Jag had though.

My Dacia has a heated steering wheel, never use it, never use the heated seats neither

I've virtually gone over to Google for my satnav'ing.
Using it over the last few days, while mooching around S Wales for the RBR26 Land marks, I have been impressed by the 'user inputted warnings'.
On the screen is a triangle which when pressed gives a number of options, for example, 'object in road' or 'Police in the area'.
It then sends these as a warning to other users on that stretch of road.

Two mobile speed cameras and a broken down wagon on a blind bend, I was notified of.

On the way back from French France we stopped overnight near Dover and visited the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne.

Brilliant place for a visit and snack.

Even better was the spitfire flypast while we were there.
