I live very close to a church & hear the bells a lot all through the year, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, in fact I quite like it

On the other hand fireworks annoy the feck out if me, I know where they should be put (& lit) in fact there was a few of us out looking for one particular knobhead on bonfire night when they were being set off around every hour until 6am the fact that the cops were out looking for the culprits as well is all that stopped some very nasty burns in some very unpleasant places

New year will be the same I guess so i'll either be trying to look after the dog or if the missus is up i'll be out with violence in mind

I agree about the fireworks my pets hate them as so do I. If you played music loud into the early hours of the morning you would be called antisocial so why can you make loud bangs?:2guns:

The nature of the society that we live in these days means that selfishness, as exhibited by that ladyparts, is now so "normal" and "accepted" that feck all gets done about it.
I'm not a fan of fireworks in the hands of the terminally stupid and am sadly now at the point where I would gladly see fireworks banned for sale to the public, simply because it's the only way to stop the minority of f*ckwits from ruining everyone elses peace and quiet. There were fireworks being let off from several properties near us for at least a week before and a week after Nov the 5th.

It's fast becoming the norm that the actions of a small section of society end up punishing the rest of us. Once upon a time the police and the local authorities had the power to deal with this shit. These days they are either hamstrung by pointless laws, gutless government, lack the budget and manpower or fail to understand the problem in the first place.

George Orwell's nightmare is coming...but I don't think even he would have forseen that the draconian control that we will be subjected to will be used to protect society from a minority of window licking retards.

Comtrols around firework sales have been tightened in recent years but, like you, I would like to see them banned other than for commercial use at public events.

I would add drones, mini motos and those stupid four wheel off road things being used on road to the list.

And, obviously, horse boxes.

And diesels.

Surprisingly I largely agree with AB

Fireworks should be for organised events only & not for sale to the public.

Drones while used responsibly can be fun & I wouldn't want a complete ban but rather tight (enforced) restrictions on where they are flown, to my mind parkland & other open (public) spaces is fine but flying them over peoples houses or housing estates isn't

As for mini moto's, buggies & every other piece of Chinese automotive death trap I think they should all be crushed today & the import or any more banned immediately
