An early Thursday Car of The Day as I won't be around much tomorrow and don't want to disappoint anyone.

IMG_2652.JPGIMG_2653.JPGIMG_2654.JPGIMG_2655.JPGIMG_2656.JPGDespite having a minuscule car industry Finland has produced some pretty cool stuff over the years.

Here is the Toroidion 1MW, an all electric car producing the equivalent of 1341 bhp that is going into production in 2021.

A very very cool car from a very very cool country.

And it has scissor doors which makes it even cooler.

I doubt many folk will know of these....the Argyll GT. They were handbuilt in Lochgilphead, Argyll and I used to walk past the "factory" on the way to secondary school.
I say "they", but we only ever saw one.... It was the ultimate parts bin special.... turbo'd Rover V8 and bits used from various British car manufacturers.

To me it always looked like a 2 seater that had been very badly stretched.

Canada today, introducing the HTT Pléthore

The background to this is more than a little hazy, but it looks the dog's and was fitted with a 750bhp V8 or an optional custom made 1100 bhp supercharged V8.

Undertones of the glorious Ferrari f430...we'll get to that another day.....:)

Cougar377 remains in denial, poor soul.

To change the tone somewhat today we visit Iran. I was surprised to learn that car production accounts for around 10% of Iran's GDP and employs around 700,000 people. The 2019 output was around 60% of that of the UK.

Here we have the Iran Khodro Company something or other, no point in showing more pictures as it looks the same as every other mainstream mid sized family car.

And it has probably the worst corporate logo ever seen on the front of a car. Ever. Which would normally y make it cool but not in this case.

No.

Just no.

Try this badge for size then.... from the Rolls Royce lookalike, the Custom Cloud. This was just a fibre glass body kit fitted to a Chevy. The emblem was originally a copy of RR's Fly Lady, but after RR took them to court they came up with a couple of alternatives. This one being the best.
