Today takes us possibly for the only time into South America, with Brazil being the eighth largest manufacturer of cars despite not having, as far as I can see, any brands of their own.

This is an absolutely iconic and über cool vehicle that was produced in Brazil where no further words are required.

Re VW bus, my cousin put a Porsche engine into one. Upgraded brakes etc.
His brother ran one of the Ford rally teams. Kinda runs in the family.
My father, in Atavar and grand uncle on my mother's side had a bike too.20200326_183707.jpg

A local lad from my home town put a tuned 944 turbo motor in a beetle & that became the fastest street legal beetle in the country for a few years

A mate had a beetle based trike & stuck a 911 carerra engine in that but never got it finished before he passed away, dont know what happened to that

Actually, forget the Bowler Landie.....I'm going to get one of these 6 x 6's so I can enjoy the looks on everyones face as I drive across the local golf courses.
With a 6.2L V8 knocking out 430 bhp it should make short work of the fairways.

I have referred this post to The R&A who have advised as follows, and I quote word for word;

- anyone who goes on the hallowed ground of a golf course in a non-golf related motorised vehicle is just a total bell end who is envious of those that partake in the noble sport
- anyone that does transgress is regarded as a moving target and every player within range is encouraged to unleash as many shots at them as possible. When the target is disabled, a thorough beating is mandatory (seven iron recommended) and the remaining pulp is to be deposited back on the travellers site where it most likely came from came from

Today's the journey takes us to Japan, the third largest producer of cars by volume globally.

The Honda NSX was astonishing when it was launched - despite being far from the quickest (0-60 in around seven seconds) it's all round ability had it running rings round many 'supercars' costing many times more.

Cooler than a block of ice sprayed with liquid hydrogen to start with, the reputation was enhanced by two further factors;

- Ayrton Senna was involved in the chassis and suspension development
- I had a stake in a syndicate that had a stripped out model that was used as a track car

Time to roll out the heavy mob. Centaur half track Land Rover.....that should sort out your golf course.
Note the anti personnel mine launcher on the back. This was designed to deploy a football pitch sized minefield in short order. I think that trumps your 7 iron. :bash:

Today we venture into China, by far the largest producers of cars globally. This is a 'China only' model made by SAIC. No, I've never heard of them either but they produce more cars per year than Germany and Britain added together.

China have a reputation for copying cars from other countries, and this one has more than a whiff of the Jaguar F Type about it. Probably explains why it is not exported.

But it has scissor doors which immediately makes it cool.

Actually, aesthetically it is the dog'danglies.

Lotus Exige 430. No bells, no whistles. Just a small, light track machine that goes and stops stupidly well on a circuit.

a visit to Poland today sees us looking at two generations of the FSO Warszawa. ('Warsaw' in Polish)

The original is a very cool looking creation from the 1950s, the newer looking model is a soon to be launched sports car which resurrects the name. It is based on the current Ford Mustang. It looks a million times better than the Mustang and therefore is very cool.
