RIP Mondeo, Johnny has had to cough up and buy a replacement motor today following the sad demise of the trusted Ford :B :B ..
We spent 6 hrs at the auctions, covered nearly 300 miles over 3 days looking at cars which were crap!
I found a very clean 406 estate 5 miles from home today on 't'internet.
Johhny now has posh wheels with air con, abs and other wizzardry (unlike others i've had) :yo:

John, they`re lovely cars, BUT make sure it`s had the electric radiator fan mod done...there was a lot of press on the 406`s where they turned them selves on.(the fans).even when the car was turned off and unattended...resulting in small fires starting in the engine bay due to shorting out etc...sorry to be alarmist, but would check it out at a dealers for peace of mind....

regards

Can't post pictures of my (wife's) new car yet as it is back at the dealers being treated with autoglym lifeshine (should be ?199,) but they are paying for it, when we went to pick it up there was a faint but fairly long scratch on the offside wing, so we said we didn't want the car, (they had already taxed it) so they said the would remove the scratch and treat the car inside and out with the lifeshine, so we get the car back on Thursday meantime they have lent us a Fabia.

Johhny is chuffed as hell with his motor :yo: , last night found the CD player wouldn't errrrr play.. Off i toddled to Peugeot this morning to see if they could rectify it and i was told to throw the stereo in the bin as they were prone to failure on the CD player, a new one is ?255 so i thought bollox to that. When i got home i put a cotton buddy in the CD slot and wiggled it about (very technical operation) and to my amazement it now works, it was muck on the lazer stopping it reading  .
There are no stains as yet on the seats and it comes with FULL Peugeot history, brand new Dunlop SP tyres, new exhaust, cam belt and only 87K on the clock for many more years of motorway bashing.

Chunky, thanks for the advice and i'll get it checked 1st thing tomorrow.
Coddy, its a 2.0 GLX petrol and is as smooth as a babys bum.
