Well i'm sure the guys on here would not have deleted it, no reason why they should.

Doesn't matter if everyone gets behind Matty. In my opinion for what it's worth I would get behind the McMillan organisation, they are brilliant as I found out. As they provide emotional, practical and financial support, nothing is too much trouble for them. :yo:

Summer/spring time sounds comfortable...

Open to help as much as possible,

I guess we need to get sponsorship (external perhaps) and cash sponsors collections for each rider... maybe group rides, over a weekend starting say friday evening and finishing sunday afternoon.. perhaps travelling right around the coast of England, Scotland, Wales relay fashion. So a tank of fuel per leg (150 miles).

Press coverage etc.

Just an idea to get the ball rolling...

if its along these lines, then I'll happily help with the southwest section. as I'm sure will a few others from this area.

Good thinking Matty and Tony

My dad died from lung cancer aged 47 over 20 years ago. Luckily my father in law survived prostate cancer a couple of years back. It's still an awful disease and treatment is not always easy to get, so a cure, and help and support for sufferers and their families is really important.

I'd like to help in some way, so keep us informed. Would you like this thread posted on the ER5/6 forum ? And could you put it on Oracle Central requesting others to put it on the other forums ? That way, you'd get more people hearing about it and possibly getting involved.

What ever you decide you have my 101% support,
Sorry to be pedantic Mick but I don't think you can have more than 100% of anything :dunno:

I will support any effort to raise funds for cancer charities.

Still waiting for an email back from Macmillan nurses on information e.t.c so no trip has been arranged as of yet but Clive I think that?s a good idea when to do it for. Also someone did mention something on one of the other forums im on of when we have finished the ride out where ever it is to have a sale. Like if any of you have any bike bits you don?t need, i.e grips and that, chuck them on the table and all the money made from the bits sold will add towards to find raising also.

relay sounds good how about we see how fast we can get a teddy or item around the uk coast line good way to meet your nearst members and have your photo took with the teddy in each town the members can chose to ride as far as they like with the item and then maybe two or three different partys at the end split between the uk to make sure every body has a chance of getting there.im more than happy to work with smix for the southwest area, keep up the good work matt and clive:yo: sam

That would be a hoot!!! :yo:

might take a long time to 'legally' go all around the uk, but maybe a route that touches each county and crosses into scotland and wales - would we have time to do Ireland??

Depends a lot on how much time Matty and Tony can give, but I certain-sure we could find enough riders to do any route. and plenty of local coverage on each bit of the route??

:yo:

Raising money for charity is a good idea and the suggested are fantastic, but, (there's always a but isn't there ?), surely CLIC would be a better charity to help as they help young people.

I'm a cancer sufferer. I'm 45 years,so had a fairly good innings, (not out yet !!) but the youngsters haven't, so anything to help them is a good idea, just my opinion.

Of course I will help/attend whatever charity is supported.

Come on you Hatters
Not sure Matty would want to go pillion on you lotfl4g71

But as he's almost central, how about some kind of spirraling route working its way out to the coast with the final half being the circumfrance of the isle?
Think the Teddy idea is great, move it on town by town, and each rider can choose to stay on the ride for as long as he/she wants.

We shouldn't forget the hospices as well, my local one looked after my mum so well, it made a real difference to her final days. Maybe we could all raise money with sponserships and share it between one big central charity like Cancer research, and our more local hospice/macmillon charity's?
Hugh.

If you'll dress as a teddy (over your leathers!!) then I'll put the bike back to a two seater and insure for pillion!!! If Silverfox doesn't scare you as a pillion, I'll give it a go!!!!   (Mind - the pillion pegs will be a bit high over the exhausts, but if you're game, I'll sort it!!) :k

Matty on the back British Isles charity tour... 1 rider with matty on and couple outriding, the stopping/change pilot points with others doing collections at these points, press talking etc. How does 36 hours solid in the saddle sound matty.
How many miles around Britian?
