Hi all,
Came across a new TV series about Brooklands that will be on the channel called "Yesterday" sometime soon but not sure when,
so will need to keep an eye open.

Worth the visit just to see the Wellington.
Quite eerie the way it's lit up.

Having been raised in Weybridge, Brooklands was my playground in my youth. I lived a 5 minute cycle ride away.

When they were building the VC10's in the 60's, school classes used to get shut down for 20 minutes when they did engine testing as they were so loud you could not hear anything.

Used to have great fun on the Brooklands banking and watching the VC10's and BAC 111's taking off and landing and then watching Concorde mock ups arriving which my old man used to have to escort in.

Because of my old man, I also got to meet Barnes Wallis on a couple of occasions. Downside is that I was too young to really appreciate who he was or what he had achieved, but I do remember the Tallboy and bouncing bombs decorating the entrance to his office which I think are the same two that now form part of the museum.

Many happy memories of a bygone era...

It’s on Yesterday tonight at 8pm.*********NOT!!

can’t remember what its called but the title includes the words ‘secret’ and ‘museum’.

Although it’s a few years old now there was an excellent documentary about Donald Campbell repeated on bbc4 last night that is worth a watch.

**********Edit******* next Tuesday at 8pm DOH*******
