Breakdown Cover

I got a call from the insurance company yesterday informing me that I did not have any breakdown cover, and he then started telling me all about their range of excellent products they could offer me.

Incidentally, I had been speaking to a friend of mine only a few days prior and asked him how much he paid, said it was about ?40.

So anyway, the insurance guy was quoting about ?70 for the full package, home start etc etc, which I thought was a bit steep to be honest. I said I'd get back to him anyway (tea was ready!)

Had a quick look on moneysupermarket.com and found the full package for less than ?40! Result!

Now, my bike is only 2 years old, so the question is, would you bother with it at all or not? :dunno: I get some kind of accident recovery with the insurance policy anyway (TPFT cover mind) so it might be worth the peace of mind i guess?

:h

Cheers guys
Cian

Seriously Blu

I have 3 cars and two bikes all driven by family. Do the AA have a package that would cover them all? Bill.

dunno how much your charged to service the platinum account but with the lower spec select with tsb you pay ?5 a month=?60 a year the breakdown cover supplied by this account in basic roadside only with a recovery distance of max 10 miles
If you were to join the AA as a personal member you'd pay ?39 for the same cover

Beware - When I took out Insurance with Virgin, they offered me what I thought was Rescue Recovery. Now fairplay I should have read the small print, but I found out at 3am just north of Birmingham on the M6 with a snapped chain that I only had recovery (to the nearest services)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS BUY REALLY GOOD COVER FOR BREAKDOWNS - you never know when you might need it!!!!!!!!!!!!
