Oooh, don't NEED a new new helmet but already been thinking about my next one.

I would like a flip lid and a quiet one as I would like to set up some kind of autocom solution up so I can speak to the missus when she's on the back or to a mate I'm riding with using my radios.

I'm not bothered about answering the phone while I'm on the bike, Infact.. I don't want to be available while I'm riding but this looks cool.

I have a couple of questions if that's alright. Don't answer if you don't want/can't be arsed, I won't be offended.

  • Is it really quiet in there?
  • If someone had the same helmet e.g. the pillion can you speak to them without needing any other headset or anything?
  • Are the batteries removable? Could you keep a spare set of AA's (or whatever they take) in the panniers incase the charge runs out

Not easy to find, where you get them from?

I found one on e-bay, about ?100. Is that right?

I was about ?100 from Busters.

It actually a couple of slot in batteries that are specific to it - not AAs or AAAs but i suppose you might be able to get spares.

Don't know about person to person.

Lid doesn't seem to noisy.
Just started to use it when i got the bird (replacement for the RF that some knob decided to write-off for me).
I'm just wondering if it's the speakers that are effed cos I put it on at work & got one of the guys to call me. I could hear the phone ringing on the desk but not in the lid. The button answered it & he could hear me but I couldn't hear a peep!!

Am I being a snob being worried about paying under ?100 for a helmet??

I wouldn't drop ?300-?400 on a helmet cos it's pretty or owt. Have paid about ?180 -?250 for last two helmets.

Should this really be an issue if it's got certain standard marks on it. For example has it got the gold mark on it that race tracks require for you to wear on the track.

Just worried about the old saying.. "Got a ?50 head, get a ?50 helmet"

But I do like the look of this flip front one. Could get one each for me and the better half.

I know what you mean Stretchie - my Shoei that got blootered was about ?300 a few years back, but this 'uns got all the markings/logos/stickers so I feel safe enough with it (i hope :-0))

I just want to find a place in Bristol, South Wales, Chippenham, Swindon (you get the idea) area where we can go and try them first before buying.

Looks good though and what a buy...

Do Busters/M&P (whichever/whatever same place anyway) have a shop? Is it in Swansea or it that just the correspondance address for the internet bit??

They have a couple of places in Swansea.
When i spoke with them about something else I had 1 address, but he told me that was the shop which was a mile or 2 from their mail order place, but I can't remember which address was which.

Give them a call & I'm sure they'll tell you.

Ace leathers at Norwich have them, I was looking at them today while SWMBO was sorting a new jacket...so I had time to kill.

Helmets looked ok, but for a flip I don't think you'll beat a schuberth. I did'nt like the seat belt type strap on the V-Can as I prefer 'D' rings.
