Did you actually check the reputation Sky has earned its self for being thieving scum bags ?
It is second only to Virgin.

Welcome to the 21st century!

What makes it worse is that the big companies never, ever pay their suppliers on time. Causes no end of problems for smaller businesses.

Bugger off.:p

You know as well as I do that all sorts of stuff is hidden in the small print and nobody is ever going to read it all. The day I signed up I got 9 separate emails from Sky all 'terms and conditions'.

It seems common practice for the customer to enter a fixed price contract that will go up in line with APR, but I bet it wouldn't come down if RPI was negative. All very one sided. It does feel morally wrong to sign up and then be told your 'fixed price' is going up within days.

Thinking about it overnight I am going to,complain to Sky.

Doubt I'll get anywhere, but I do feel strongly about the price increase.

To me it is the same sort of historic sneaky practice that the banks have rightly been slaughtered for.

Just renegotiated my contract with sky down to £25 per month for 18 months from £39.50. prompted in part by the £1.50 increase.

All I had to do was get rid of Sky Kids (no kids & all nephews & nieces are either too old or too far away) and box sets & quite frankly we don't have time to watch what Mrs L has recorded, let alone anything else.

It's still not ideal but until we've caught up with the recorded stuff, Mrs L doesn't want to get rid of Sky altogether.

It's why I left them kept on raising their prices. The thing is, other providers still don't have the all round package sky offer. The Sky+ over is pretty slick etc.

But now we are on freesat and Netflix now for less than a tenner a month. We don't really miss the channels we used to watch (History and Discovery)...and really don't miss paying £90+ a month to Murdoch!

I,totally agree that the Sky offering is miles ahead of the competition - I really don't like the BT interface and streaming programmes rather than simply recording them to the hard drive is clumsy and not user friendly.

But overall if I didn't watch a lot of sport I probably wouldn't take anything other and stick to Freeview. Unfortunately it is the sport that makes it all expensive.

I do like the car programmes on Discovery and National,Geographic though:D

Agreed...but is BT sport not an option? It just Gauls me every time Sky put their prices up, and they have you over a barrel

It is, and I have taken it for the past year - but their product isn't a patch on Sky.

Anyway, there is more than one way to skin the BT cat.......
