Last night. amazingly, wasn’t Armageddon perhaps there’s a money shortage? Even so on our walkies this morning there was still the rubbish left over, dumped on a pathway. Couldn’t they have at least had a bonfire and thrown someone on it?

Considering the state of the economy it shows people’s priorities, last night was like World war three, loud fireworks from about 3.30 through to nearly midnight

Much quieter than normal around here I thought.

We went to an organised display at the Rugby club on Friday.

Quiet here, thank feck. I expect the fact that it was pissing it down helped. For once, the rain was welcome.

It was tossing it down here but didn't stop the bastard things. I used to love them as a kid and i do enjoy watching them but it's their inappropriate use that pisses me off. Gia doesn't like them either; she became uncharacteristically aggressive towards the loud ones, most likely the the guard dog coming out in her.

I can recall going to the local Marine camp at Lympstone for an ‘invite only’ firework display. This was easily 40 years ago. While talking to one of the organisers he remarked that it was strange how the public could purchased such loud fireworks even compared to the ones being used by the military for their display. However, they also set off a few parachute flares to make it a bit more interesting.

An organised display at the RD&E hospital one year was very exciting as it had to be called off as a strong wind affected some of the aerial stuff, which ended up going into the crowds o_O
