My wife's car was in the Audi garage for a check-up yesterday - no faults found so no cost.

However the A5 they lent her for the day was scuffed by a scumbag in a tatty wreck in the co-op car park and he didn't stop to leave his details. I've just had to pay the fucking ?343 Audi billed us for the damage!

Hard luck there mate. Driver more than likely did not have insurance, had the same happen to me when a woman mounted the kerb to hit my bike(tied to a lamp post)

The real shitter is, had this been our own car we'd have taken it to the local body shop and he'd have done it for ?100 or less. Audi charge stupid money for labour.

Yeah and probably used a "cheap" shop to do the bodywork as well.

Were you not offered fully comp cover?

Also, if you know it was a shitter then i presume you saw it? Get a reg plate? Ask the store to check cctv? The police would have treated it as an RTA you know but you'd need to spoon feed the info to them.

isn't there a fund for accidents caused by uninsured drivers? Obviously might not be applicable here, but might be worth a quick google.

He'd driven off before we spotted the damage. It was an old bloke with long grey hair in a battered blue Audi. No idea what number plate. When we asked the shop about cameras they said they have no coverage of the car park. :bang: Being a local place for local people we're hoping to see him again.

Wrong I'm afraid - public access/right of way so comes under the road traffic act. I used to think the same until plod told me otherwise.

I had the police go round and see a chap that mashed my door in Tesco car park. He paid up sharpish as they said it was an RTA.

I also have to agree with that as you are not allowed to ride your bike in circles trying to practice getting the knee down. Apparently the coppers do not allow such riding manners and will approach you and tell you off.....or so I heard

I was done years ago for driving without due care and attention...
I crashed through a garage on the end of the pier in dover docks. next to the light house on the one to the far right as you enter the docks from the sea.
They said it was the A20.

Come on you Hatters
Few years ago my other half was just arriving home and as she turned into our drive the idiot next door reversed out of his drive straight into the side of our car.

He then proceeded to refuse to give us his insurance details, so I asked my neighbour opposite, a traffic cop, but he said no point ringing police, civil matter they wouldn't do anything.

In the end the guys own car was far worse than the scratch on the face of the bumper and in the end his ins company contacted us, car fixed, all his fault. Result. Although never spoken to them since, luckily we rent that house now.

Even better though. For months afterwards we were chased by injury claims companys so in the end we stuck a claim in, said no injury but they still sent us a ?1000. Spent the money landscaping the gardens :-0)

Unbelievable. Audi give your car a free check up and lend you a car free of charge and you moan because some scroat hits you and you think they are charging you too much to repair the damage.

Well perhaps the fact that their previous ?670 "repair" has been intermittently failing explains why we were in there?
