I dropped my phone again today. and just about killed it! Well - its kind of on life support, only one button works, so its not really a lot of use (it has survived a bike crash, a car crash and being dropped fairly often!!)!!! :}

BUT

Cos I is a bit daft, I failed miserably to sign up to O2's thing for downloading your phones info c7u8

I did however download the contacts onto the puter. BUT - can't get the new phone to talk to the Nokia Suite on the puter, and can't get the damn file to open :bang::bang:

Anyone know what program opens an XML Document?? :h

I spect I can get all the numbers back, one day, but could do with at least getting the list of numbers off the puter onto paper!!!! :cry:

Me and Technology just don't seem to get on :mad:

Is the info not on the sim card? if it is you could just put your old sim in your new phone

DK - I store everything on the phone memory cos so many contacts have more than one number/info!! and so I was very good and downloaded it to the puter for just this possible happening!!! Its just my luck to get a new phone that hte Nokia Suite just doesn't recognise!! :} :}
Might have another go at that BlueNotes thing that O2 offer!! c7u8

XML is plain text, and will also import into Excel (or other spreadsheet stuff) if you can't read it in notepad. Internet Explorer also makes a fair crack at displaying it.

It'll look a bit like HTML but with <thingy> </thingy> custom tags around fields and records. It makes sense.

Excel and Notepad didn't seem to want to talk to it!! I'll try again when I get back home :} :}

On my Excel 2007 there's an option to open .xml files. I don't have any to know what it would make of it though. Can import into Access 2007 too.

It could be a new feature in this latest Office? Worth asking around in case someone you trust with all your phone numbers can open it for you!
