Blackbirds still alive and well in NZ!

It's been a while since I checked in to see if everyone was still alive so thought I'd mention the "Old Firm Tour" that my mates and I try to do every year. In 2007, all of us had Blackbirds (and we met Russ Fae Fyvie and his lovely wife Janice in the south island). The mix has changed a bit and one 'bird owner couldn't make it this time but there were still 2 on the run, even if one was pink 8rfl@.

Pictures and narrative are here:http://geoffjames.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/the-old-firm-tour-2013.html. Some of the old hands (Eric and co) will recognise Davey Uprichard as he had the same 'bird in the UK.

In the subsequent post: http://geoffjames.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/the-old-firm-bikes_18.html, the guys talk about their bikes which has more photos.

Cheers from Down Under @tu*

Cheers Paul. Ohura is a really creepy place, miles from anywhere. Getting stuck there after dark would not be a good experience :)-( . I'd have had coke if I'd known the soda was going to look that bad!

Ian, happens to all of us, not that I've got a lot of hair in the first place. Haven't seen Jo for well over a year sad to say. They live 600 km from us so can't just drop in for a quick coffee, more's the pity!

Hoping the Austrian Tyrol will provide some breathtaking piccys too !!

This is the plan !

Day 1 - Fyvie to Nunsmere Hall Hotel (Nr Chester - 395 miles)
Day 2 - Nunsmere Hall Hotel to Folkstone (260 miles)
Day 3 - Chunnel to Frogland then onto Trier (Germany - 295 miles)
Day 4 - Trier to Titisee (Germany - 210 miles)
Day 5 - Titisee to Trujen (Austria - 174 miles)
Day 6 to 9 - Hotel Reiderhof in the Austrian Tyrol
Day 10 - Trujen to Heidelberg (Germany - 270 miles)
Day 11 - Heidelberg to Rochefort (Belgium - 225 miles)
Day 12 - Rochefort to Chunnel (France - 195 miles)

So nearly 2300 miles there and back then we will be tootling around the Tyrol for 4 days based at the Hotel Reiderhof so really looking forward to it.

Hi Russ,
We're good as gold ta! A lot of my riding is with the IAM these days so,it's great to get out with the lads for a bit of a blast! It's Dave Easey who you've got showing his arse! Lovely to see some of your photos again @tu*

Jennie doesn't come on the back any more but she has fun in her trick MX5 and we spend a fair bit of time sea fishing too in the runabout. Bloody tough life when you're retired :-0)

Take care mate and regards to Janice.

Still kickin' it!
Hey Jamesy - obviously, I'm old and slow these days, as I've only just spotted this thread - you youngsters are much too quick for me now! :p

All the best from this cold, snow-bound land and thanks for cheering us up with a good read and some piccies of a bit o' sunshine (which scared me a bit until I realised what I was looking at!).

Ride safe, Mr. J.

Keep doin' what you do... @tu*

Gidday Eric!

Well, that Davey lad is pretty quick these days! Since he fitted a Penske rear shock and John's front springs and spacers, he can ALMOST keep up with the Triple in the tight stuff 8rfl@.

You can keep your cold, but wouldn't mind a bit of the wet stuff. Only 15mm of rain since Xmas and most of NZ is officially in drought!

Take care matey.....
