Now Now guys....................

size is not too important you know, its the way you use it!!!!! :t :}

Buzz: myself and Derek would love to come up Mira way and do a day on the track. However, it is a hike from the south coast, I personally won't ride that far, and do a track day and then ride back, so it means a trailer job. That then means an overnight stay, as the autoroute says over 3 hours to there from us. So we are talking perhaps 4-5 hours due to the M25. So ?75 each turns into rather alot of money, with towing petrol and accommodation. We recently did a day at Llandow and camped the night before to lower costs, but putting a tent up in the pissing rain is no fun nor is it any fun late at night. Logistically for us it takes some forward planning and extra dosh.

I would think that probably goes for all of us south of the M25, I am sure Ben would agree with that too.

However, in saying that, we cannot do one this year, but if you are continuing them next year then we will certainly consider arranging one. :beer:

Buzz, one thing that worries me a bit is Bert saying that he was banned for going too quick... BERT!! BANNED... FOR GOING TOO QUICK!!! I don't pretend to be faster than thou or anything, but surely the idea is to develop your skills so that you can be more confident and faster on your bike... no? :dunno: Plus, if you ban Bert for being too fast, you won't even allow me to put my tyres on the track :neenaw:

Bert banned for going too fast, ha ha, what he didn't tell you was that he decided to start off in the novice group and it was soon apparent to the instructors that he'd done this before and was too quick for the group he was in. So he was taken out of it (pulled off the track) as it was considered dangerous to be that quick in a group of slow riders, and moved up into the next group, thats the truth. :lol:

Now thats the sort of thing I like to see at an event of this type, instructors who know what they are looking for and can make the right decisions. We have just secured the service of an ex BSB rider and another who's in a current race team to help out on instruction. Things are looking better, and these guys will be there on the 25th, so for those who are coming, they could be in for a treat.

I don't want to seem to be banging on saying our skill days (track day) are better than any others, of course they arent, but what I am trying to get across to the Bird members is that they can have a cracking day out, at a great track with full instruction for a bloody cheap price, I want them to get a good service and not be ripped off. Why pay ?200.00 plus to go to the likes of Donnington when you can have more or less the same with your own mates?.

Both Rich and I who organise these events have been criticized by the instructors for keeping the price too low, but we aren't in this to make pots of money out of the members, we want our mates and folks to be able to do lots of these days instead of one per year at an extortionate price.

But, the choice is theirs, we put these things on offer, its up to them.

Anyway, enough of that, the day Bert laps quicker than me is the day I'll sell me bike, so there's the gauntlet lol.

Bert, you sure do make me chuckle, I nearly fell off my chair reading this. If nothing else mate, I love this forum, it certainly brightens the day up.

Right, the 25th, pink slips at the ready, you start on one half of the track, I'll start on the other, and whoever catches the other first owns the other blokes bike, right?. :eek: c7u8

Speak for ya self BIF. I've done a few tracks days oop North and will continue to do so. I've never paid anywhere near ?200 for a track day and neither would I.

Hey Buzz, who's the ex-BSB rider? Might be interested if it's anyone decent! :dunno:
